The food tasted good but the portion of the fish and chips was the smallest portion I had ever seen. We asked for extra chips and they made us pay for it. Also the portion of chips is ridiculously small. Service was good and fast.

If you look up best Seafood Chowder in Waterford, Dooley’s was not on the list….BUT IT SHOULD BE!! One of the best seafood chowders around and one of the best meals I had while visiting Ireland!!!

Travelled to Waterford for the day. We were 'wrecked' from the heatwave and from walking all over Waterford. The person with me badly needed to sit down but we only wanted a coffee. We were welcomed and shown into the dry dock bar. There was no issue with us just wanting a coffee. Service was polite, professional and friendly and we were welcomed to stay as long as we wanted, with no pressure to order anything else. We were pleasantly surprised at the price. I've paid more for sub standard cappuccino at takeaway coffee machines. I would happily recommend this spot to anybody. We will be travelling to Waterford for a long weekend soon and will definitely book in to Dooleys for the duration :) :)

Best food we have had on our trip so far! My husband got wings and they were very crispy then he has chicken Alfredo which was enough for 3 people! The Guinness beef stew I had was by far the best and also contained very large portions. We topped it off with a brownie which was also divine. It’s a tad loud when they get busy but the atmosphere and food make this place worth the visit!

Great place for breakfast before a bus trip. Very good quality food, beautifully cooked and served. Lovely friendly and efficient staff. And great value for money. Also nice for coffee and a scone. We’ll be back!

Waterford Castle Hotel & Golf Resort

30/05/2026: Our stay was nice enough. The room had many amenities, the bathroom was great, especiallythe shower. The weather was warm and there is no AC, so the room was quite stuffy, no air movement. The breakfast was a good spread of hot items, fruit, cereal, pastries, juices, tea and coffee. If you are planning to golf you'll have something to do, otherwise not so much. Our dinner was very tasty and the service was good.
28/05/2026: After we had already booked and paid for this hotel, we received an email saying that there was going to be a private event, and we wouldn't have access to the castle for a 24-hour period. We were staying in one of the lodges. Reading the reviews after the fact, we realized that this has happened to others before. Since the hotel and lodges are on an island, this is particularly problematic. The only other place to get food on the island was at the golf club. The night we went there, they were having a golf event, so we were seated by ourselves in the banquet room. They had run out of the one dish we could eat. The food and wine were mediocre. This hotel needs to do a MUCH better job accommodating its other guests when it is having a private event.

Fitzwilton Hotel

23/06/2026: My partner and I booked a two night stay here as we were taking part in the Waterford Viking Marathon. Reception staff and bar staff were lovely and friendly. We found the breakfast service on the morning of the Marathon very disorganised and there was a very rude and aggressive young blonde waitress. We very much didn't appreciate this before our Marathon. Breakfast the following morning however was a much better experience with far nicer staff members. Food is ok. A side dish listed on the menu was not available to order, but then offered with the fish dish was a bit peculiar. Great location but rooms were nothing special and no complimentary water provided in the rooms.
25/05/2026: I enjoyed my stay here ✨ The phone in the room wasn’t working, so I had to go down stairs each time I needed something 😅 But apart from that, everything was brilliant 🙏🏻
