07/01/2026: 07/01/26 I was recommended this place to park my lorry for the night by a friend. It has a good size parking area, probably 10 trucks still leaving lots of car parking space. They had workers there today filling in all the potholes. The server told me that it has recently been taken over. They are trying different opening hours. The carvery has been from midday until 1500, after that there’s a bar menu until 1900, the bar is open until around 2130. Today though they had the carvery open until 1830 so this is what I had. I wasn’t disappointed, the food was lovely (like all carvery’s it could have been a bit hotter). The portion size was decent and tasted great. I had mine with a cup of tea afterwards total cost €19.25/£16.68. As I bought dinner I was not charged for parking but parking is charged for non patrons. Unfortunately running fridges are not permitted at night because of local houses. It is used by locals as well as passing trade which makes a nice mix of people and some interesting characters. Although I don’t drink alcohol, there seemed to be a good variety available to those who do. The young lady behind the bar (Molly I think) was pleasant and helpful. A very nice stopping place.
