Dublin Skylon Hotel in Dublin

Room was clean, got the right amount of towels. However the restaurant was disappointing in it's portions, and the best sheet was always open on one side like they got a sheet that was too short and just ran with it. Also the windows open upward and i was too short to be able to reach it without standing on a chair or being lifted. Next to a bus stop and easy access to the city, and there is an amazing pub on the right and down the road.

This is a very convenient spot from the airport and surrounded by nice restaurants and handy shops. The room was spacious and well appointed and the staff were very helpful. The folks are the bar made an extra effort to create a good atmosphere. I'd definitely stay again!

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel while travelling to Dublin for dental treatment at Da Vinci Dental and eye surgery at the Mater Private Hospital. The room was comfortable, and the bed provided an excellent night’s sleep. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of choices available each morning. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Their professionalism and kindness made my stay even more enjoyable. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dublin.

The Skylon is a great hotel with good facilities. The staff are friendly. Parking is good and more parking is available around the rear of the building. Breakfast is good, a hot drink and toast is supplied to the table and self-service of the hot food/continental buffet, but can ask for alternatives if needed (gluten free, veggie etc). The hotel rooms are very clean and decoration is of a high standard. Rooms are cleaned daily and bedsheets changed every other day. Location is around 35 minutes walk into Dublin city centre and is straight forward. Taxi is about 15 minutes (traffic dependent of course !) Have stayed here twice before and would definitely recommend to others.

The room faced the road so was very loud, and there was a really bright light above the door. The breakfast wasn't great but the staff were very nice.

Asked front desk if they had a shower chair to use as I had broken ankle, was told no, I was not in a room that they would accomodate.

Modern, clean, very affordable, convenient to the airport but in a nice area with good restaurants at hand--the Dublin Skylon is a perfect choice for your first or last night in Ireland, or even as a base in Dublin. Parking is a reasonable 10 euro, right in front, and it's a 25 minute drive / taxi / bus trip to the airport. YMMV, but I'd happily book here again.

Dublin Skylon Hotel is a hospitality establishment located in Drumcondra next to Dublin City University (DCU) St. Patrick's campus. How to get there? From Dublin Airport to the hotel, you can take bus 16, 41, or 41c for €2 and arrive in 30-35 minutes. From Skylon Hotel to Dublin city center, you can take bus 19 or 41 and arrive in 20-25 minutes for €2 (coins only). (The bus does not yet accept cashless payments. Prices as of May 2026.) The service from the reception staff was outstanding. Congratulations! ⚠️On the other hand, the service from the bar/restaurant staff could be improved. I suggest that the middle-aged gentleman who collects payment for breakfast at the restaurant entrance be a bit friendlier, or at least smile when collecting the €18 per person for the breakfast buffet. Their interactions with customers and the breakfast staff could be more pleasant and ease the tense atmosphere that seems to be present among most of the restaurant staff. This is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. ⚠️ Everything else is excellent; the rooms are clean and the common areas are ideal for leisure or business trips. The price is reasonable for the value offered. 🙌🏽

A well-maintained hotel with friendly service. There's a good bus connection right in front of the hotel to the city center (€2 / 10 min) and also to the airport. The hotel restaurant offers a good menu with plenty of choices. The rooms are comfortable and clean. A safe, a refrigerator (empty), and an ironing board are provided. The only drawback is the lack of air conditioning in the room. On hot days, the table fan is definitely insufficient. The carpet in the room is also rather old-fashioned from a hygiene perspective.
