A typical American diner, like you see in movies. The burger was delicious and came very quickly.

We went to try this Eddie Rockets today to get something to eat. My son was hungry. He ordered The Classic burger with no tomato and waffle fries. I got Chilli Cheese Fries. They are my favourite. We got the shake of the month: Cold Brew Coffee. The shake was delicious but filling. They also serve alcohol. This Eddie Rockets serves alcohol which is good. I had a Limoncello Spritz. I love Limoncello ❤️. The staff were friendly and place was clean. We had a nice lunch. But there was one thing the toilets were bad. It's such a nice place. You just need to keep the toilets cleaner. Apart from that it's a very nice place to have a meal!

Loved the theme as an American. Music, food, and vibes were all immaculate, but the service was quite slow and we were in there longer than we anticipated. I believe they were understaffed, but they had quite a few customers so it was understandable, no harm done.

Overall was ok. But, unfortunately, the Indian guy who served me, added 10% tips on the top of my bill without my consent. Just realised after I paid when I double checked the prices of the food I ordered. I wouldn’t mind giving some tips, but adding it without letting me know didn’t feel right to me. I wouldn’t be back because of that attitude. I don’t know if they always do that to people but I’d advise everyone to double check if the prices are right.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t a particularly enjoyable experience. The food was just okay, but there were a few issues that took away from the overall visit. I could see my buffalo wings, onion rings, and chips sitting under the heat lamp for over 7 minutes while my burger was still being cooked. As a result, the wings were slightly dry, and the onion rings and chips arrived cold and quite stodgy. I had to wait around 10 minutes for my drink after my food was served. I ordered the Jalapeño Popper burger, which had a generous amount of Frank’s RedHot sauce on the base. While I enjoy a bit of heat, the sauce had soaked into the bottom of the bun, making it soggy and unpleasant to eat. While I do enjoy places like McDonald’s and Burger King, I felt this particular restaurant might appeal more to those who are looking for large portions of comfort food rather than balanced quality. It was fine for what it was, but I think there are definitely better options in the area.

Eddie Rockets. The name alone conjures up images of chrome diners, leather booths, and jukeboxes belting out Elvis at full tilt. In Dublin, it’s the fast-food altar of all things faux-American, where nostalgia meets melted cheese and everything comes with a side of guilt. Anne Street’s branch is right in the belly of the city – and it wants you to believe you’re stepping into a 1950s Midwest daydream. And in some ways, you are. That tell-tale smell of deep-fried dreams hits you the moment you walk in. But so does the faint whiff of damp vinyl and something not far removed from despair. Still, you’re not here for the ambience. You’re here for the meat. I ordered the M50 burger. A name that conjures tailbacks, concrete, and existential dread. But what arrived was anything but. It was an unapologetic tower of beef – thick, juicy, and charred just enough to remind you this is real, honest-to-god cow. It came dripping with molten cheese, stacked high with pickles and onions that snapped with every bite, all squashed into a bun that somehow held together despite the structural carnage inside. It didn’t need finesse. It had flavour – the kind that makes you lean back and let out an involuntary grunt of satisfaction. The chips? Hot, crisp, and seasoned with just enough salt and spice to keep you compulsively reaching for more. They didn’t whisper. They shouted. Across the table, my girlfriend took on the Southern Fried Chicken Tenders – golden, rugged strips of chicken breast that crunched audibly under the fork. None of that spongey, suspicious stuff you get in lesser places. These were tender, juicy, and dangerously moreish. She dipped them in sauce and closed her eyes – a sign it’s going well. The vanilla milkshake? It was a thing of beauty. Thick enough to slow traffic, cold as a February morning, and with just the right amount of sweetness. Not the synthetic, saccharine gloop you get in lesser places. This tasted real – as if someone in the back had actually used ice cream instead of a powder mix. And yet, the cracks showed – quite literally. The décor, once gleaming and proud, now looked like it had been in a bar fight. Holes in the wall had been lazily patched, the chairs were torn like they’d been mauled by a pack of sugar-crazed toddlers, and ours was so sticky I feared it might take a shoe as a souvenir. The whole place could do with a deep clean and someone armed with a paint roller and a bit of dignity. The staff were friendly, but not without issue. The woman at the counter, pleasant as she was, had trouble understanding my Irish accent – a surreal moment that ended with the manager translating my burger order in Hindi. Only in Dublin, only at Eddie Rockets. But despite the chaos, the grime, and the lost-in-translation episode, the food delivered. It was the kind of meal that leaves your fingers shiny and your soul slightly soothed. It’s not perfect. But it’s tasty, comforting, and if you squint – just for a second – it’s almost charming in its battered, burger-stained glory.

Nan Chinese 江南府

19/07/2025: Four of us went there for dinner. It was a Thursday evening. It was a truly delightful experience. The waitress was welcoming, clarified any doubts we had in relation to the menu, explained dishes, talked about the ingredients,... And all that with kindness, patience and a smile. We all agreed that the food not only looked amazing (beautifully presented), it was delicious!!! Lately, I have experienced that, although some restaurants may have nice food, you barely get to enjoy it or enjoy the company of the person you're with. Once you sit down, the clock starts ticking and when time is over you're presented with the bill. Wine is overpriced and often served incorrectly (too warm or filling the glasses too fast in order to get you to buy another bottle). Thankfully, none of that happened here!!! I enjoyed being out with my friends, trying delicious dishes new to us. Having a relaxed dinner and catching up without being interrupted or rushed out. I will certainly go back and I'd recommend it for the quality of the food and the service!

24/07/2025: Myself and a friend had lunch here. We ate Picanha and Escondidinho and everything was good. Extra point to the waitress Poliana, very friendly and helpful.
