This is without question the best, oroper Urish food to be had in the north west. Like the food you would grt in the seventies. Big flowery spuds, bacon, cabbage, fresh fish honemade soup. Sublime. A unique experience
Happened by chance. Met with a family environment, helpful and welcoming owners even at 3pm. Homemade food with a good variety of choices from starters to desserts, a very pleasant surprise, super recommended!
Hidden Gem. A visit to family owned Farrens bar & restaurant in Pound Street, Carndonagh is a must. This bar has been trading now for 99 years & is unique to Carndonagh for traditional home style cooking. Childrens menu also.
An intimate bar holding up to 60 people with a natural fire for those chilly days. The restaurant holds up to 30 diners and has a real home from home feel. Farren's bar is a quaint, unique and charming little bar & restaurant serving freshly made home cooked breakfasts and three course dinners served with water, squash or milk. The black and white pudding is the best I have tasted. Three course dinners plus tea/coffee & selection of biscuits. Want a lighter bite try their sandwichs & toasties. They offer some homemade bread and healthy steamed potatoes as well as homemade chips and mashed potatoes. The food is Inexpensive and very tasty. The other photos are roast pork with meat juice gravy, mashed potatoes, apple sauce, carrots, swede, cabbage & turnip. Menu changes daily so is not published as they buy seasonal ingredients from the local market but you can be sure of always having a lovely meal so go in and prepare to be delighted. Wheelchair access.
