22/06/2026: I went there with friends during our stay in Northern Ireland.
It's a family-run establishment, passed down through generations. The atmosphere is friendly, and the food is a cut above your average pub fare. The service is excellent and friendly. It deserves a sixth star! Don't miss this place if you're ever in the area!

23/02/2026: Joyce’s Inishowen is exactly what a great local bar should be. Warm, welcoming, and full of character. From the moment you walk in, you feel at home.
The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive without ever being over the top. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy — a proper spot for a pint, good conversation, and a bit of craic.
A real gem in Inishowen. We’ll definitely be back.
18/02/2026: Very Very good room for the price … we are staying 1 night / 2 adults and 2 kids for £78 with breakfast , you can’t compare this price to any hotel around .
Absolutely beautiful room clean and warm . Highly recommended . Also amazing restaurant next to the hotel part of them . Thanks

15/05/2026: Restaurant review only. I had 3 nights in Carndonagh and had dinner every night at The Butterbean. All 3 nights I had a special and all 3 were fantastic. Salmon over stir-fry noodles was my favorite - perfectly cooked with a perfect sauce. Pasta with a tomato-cream sauce with chorizo was also excellent. Finally monkfish with a butter-leek sauce over asparagus and other vegetables was expertly cooked and very refined - delightful. I can't recommend this place enough - it was the best food of my entire trip.
13/03/2026: Visited only restaurant, delicious food and big portions, goujon chicken with garlic potatoes. Wasn’t busy so food arrived quickly

28/02/2026: Worst coffee ever. Tasted cheap. Only good thing was that they had coconut milk. The cafe is tacky with flashing lights like it’s Christmas.

25/06/2026: Stopped in on the way past carn, got the magic box unreal value for 11.50. Pizza meals for the kids. Good food, Good service, Good Value.
04/05/2026: They saved us on a bank holiday when we were starving and everywhere else seemed to be closed. My burger was kinda ugly but it was tasty and a decent size for the price. Service was friendly.

13/01/2026: Ordered a pizza on the app doesn't say anything about tikka chicken. Just says chicken so I rang when my food came with tikka chicken on it and it was disgusting. Didnt replace it so will be last time I order from there

Edit: it's gotten worse, how can you make an espresso, latte/skinny latte, mocha, cappuccino, americano and not a flat white?1
2nd edit: don't write reviews whilst hangry, the granary bap came in clutch and pulled the flaming grill up by the boot straps, that's how you do it

20/06/2025: Best craic in all of Ireland. Stopped here between buses when returning from Malin Head and met tons of kind locals in here. Been to pubs all over Ireland and this one was the friendliest.

22/06/2024: Just had a lovely salad today. Usually have a wrap or similar.
Food is always fresh and prepared to a high standard.
I personally do not like the way the cutlery comes tightly wrapped in a napkin which has been sealed with a drop of water.
Staff are always cheerful and engaging.
I now accidentally, on purpose, forget to eat before going grocery shopping so I have to drop in for a bite 😀
21-June-'24: Got takeaway. Food still really good. However, ordered 1 x Chicken Chorizo and 2 x Chili Chicken wrap.
Got home 15-min later to find I had been given 2 x Chicken Chorizo. Unfortunately, someone went without lunch as they totally dislike Chorizo 👎

11/01/2026: Visited this old style bar while staying overnight when hiking in the area had an enjoyable few pints in this friendly , family run bar. Really enjoyed the banter with some local characters.
