Fitzwilton Hotel in Waterford

My partner and I booked a two night stay here as we were taking part in the Waterford Viking Marathon. Reception staff and bar staff were lovely and friendly. We found the breakfast service on the morning of the Marathon very disorganised and there was a very rude and aggressive young blonde waitress. We very much didn't appreciate this before our Marathon. Breakfast the following morning however was a much better experience with far nicer staff members. Food is ok. A side dish listed on the menu was not available to order, but then offered with the fish dish was a bit peculiar. Great location but rooms were nothing special and no complimentary water provided in the rooms.

I enjoyed my stay here ✨ The phone in the room wasn’t working, so I had to go down stairs each time I needed something 😅 But apart from that, everything was brilliant 🙏🏻

I had a lovely overnight stay right in the heart of Waterford not too far from food, drink and shopping. The hotel staff were very friendly and the food was lovely as well. Highly recommend this location to anyone looking for accommodation for their stay in Waterford as it was a reasonable price as well for one double room and one room with a double bed. I look forward to visiting again.

I loved the Fitzwilton Hotel because it’s covered in art on the outside. It’s a lovely hotel and has comfortable beds that would make u sleep longer. People complain over the parking but it’s not that bad. If you can’t find parking , drive over out and turn left. Don’t go threw the barriers. If you turn left at the edge of the carpark, and drive around the corner before the barriers , there’s more parking there so you will always get parking and the parking is free so it’s great in my opinion. The staff are lovely and friendly in the hotel and bar and they do anything for you. I would come back and stay here. The only thing I would say is that the outside of the windows need a clean but everything else was great. The Tv in the bedroom is really cool as you can watch loads of channels and you can use your Netflix account. You can also cast any of your favourite apps to the tv to watch. For example I casted the RTÉ player to the tv with the cast button on the remote and it worked perfectly. You can also use your Google tv account as well and your YouTube account also. Very cool technology. The room was clean and tidy and comfortable. I loved this hotel and I would go back here again. It’s in a great location to walk anywhere from the hotel.

We had a lovely stay at the Fitzwilton Hotel. The Staff were absolutely welcoming, efficient and helpful, from the ladies on reception, the bar staff, the room attendants, the staff in the dining room etc., They worked so well as a team. The food served there was excellent. The rooms were spotless and the beds so comfortable. We will definitely be returning in the future.

I will preface by saying I always love coming back to Waterford, and it is always a joy coming across the different hotels they have and the different experiences they offer. With local competition literally on the same corner, the Fitzwilton Hotel and staff truly go above and beyond. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great, I was a big fan of the colour scheme throughout and taken a back by how many rooms there were as the hotel itself doesn’t look so big. With two room service menu’s to which we weren’t expecting being available, we quickly became excited for the idea of dinner in the room or breakfast in bed. We truly enjoyed the room allocated to us. As well as that, this hotel has some of the most attentive staff I’ve come across in any hotel, from a quick and easy, friendly check-in, there was a gentleman who had called and held an elevator for us to speedily get to our room, as well as such, I had asked the staff if they were showing the Superbowl, to which began at 11:30pm, whilst they weren’t aware if it was showing they quickly made it their mission to ensure it was for me later as they weren’t confident we would be able to watch it in our rooms, to which we were also able to do. No downsides whatsoever and wasn’t limited in where I could enjoy the game in comfort. As well as this, a special thank you to Matt the Night Porter for being welcoming and friendly, talkative and informative, he was a delight to return to the bar to throughout the game and I personally think this man possesses a quality that not enough in people in our industry do, he has a natural and warm want to help whoever he’s serving and it was greatly appreciated. If I had to be extremely nit picky, the food we had for dinner was delicious, the pepper sauce was a tad bland, but the gravy and the rest of the roast tasted superb so don’t let it discourage you from eating here! I would like to thank the wonderful members of staff at the Fitzwilton Hotel for an amazing experience and highly recommend it over its local competitors.
