Wow this is a little hidden gem :) It is in a little random place but once you find it, it is a cozy and warm place to be! Great for kids and the food... is one of the best bang for buck deals in Dublin!!

This place is gorgeous. The food is carefully sourced, well made and fairly priced, but above all delicious. Sitting by the window with a coffee in an enamel cup is a singular joy. I have noticed it is really family friendly also. The owners have created something really special here.

I showed up at Flower and Bean the day after giving birth. In pyjamas. No shame. During maternity leave I’d stop by after Pilates with my baby…surviving on caffeine and pastries. The “Bumbs, Babes and Babies” group saved my sanity. They do afternoon events (like Halloween) with wine while your kid plays and it’s as glorious as it sounds.

My husband found this place while I was staying in the Coombe following the birth of our first baby - he brought me back some donuts and oh my god, best thing I ever tasted! We’ve been back 5+ times since and it’s our favourite place to go.

I'm not from the area, but I swung here to pick up some pastries for myself and the family. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious! Their counter was filled with various goodies, all of which looked home-made. The staff gave me some recommendations and I was not disappointed with what I had. Thank you!

House of Read

22/12/2025: Cute teahouse with the sweetest waiter. Be sure to try the sausage rolls with relish.
05/12/2025: I have passed by this chocolatier’s many times . That changed yesterday. The layout inside is a feast for the eyes , so many beautiful chocolate creations inside . The man serving us yesterday was so friendly . We had a hot chocolate and an americano and had to try the cakes. So picked up a rocky road and a chocolate caramel shortcake. Have to say everything was outstanding. Fell in love with the place. You seriously need to give this beautiful place a visit. I know my hot chocolate and this was one of the best.

Mullingar House

23/03/2026: Staying with work in The West County Hotel and went for walk in Phoenix Park. Called in here for bite to eat and a drink on way back. first thing that strikes you is the interior is really nice and the pub has real character. Food was excellent with an extensive menu and staff were just nice people. Will definitely be back and would strongly recommend it. It's outside appearance doesn't prepare you for how nice it is inside.
21/03/2026: The incredible historical depth and the remarkably cozy atmosphere of this premier traditional pub in the heart of Chapelizod make it an absolutely spectacular destination for anyone who values authentic Irish hospitality and literary heritage in Dublin. I spent a long time enjoying a perfectly poured pint and exploring the classic wooden interior because the general energy of the building is very inviting and every single corner offers a level of vintage charm that is remarkably consistent with the high standards of historic Dublin establishments. I really loved the professional kindness of the local bartenders and the thoughtful preservation of the Joyce related memorabilia because the balance of the old world tradition and the friendly community vibe is truly impressive and it provides a satisfying and rewarding experience for every visitor. The facility is maintained with a great sense of local pride and I noticed that the environment remains respectful and warm for families looking for a relaxing meal after a long walk through the nearby Phoenix Park grounds. It is a must visit for any resident or traveler who appreciates a well managed independent pub where the quality of the service is a main priority and the surrounding views of the Liffey river add a layer of natural beauty to the entire visit. I also appreciated the clean organization of the seating areas and the general sense of warmth within the lounge because it encourages a relaxed and mindful appreciation of the local pub culture while soaking in the vibrant charm of the Dublin landscape. Even though it is a popular spot for weekend regulars the organization of the service is executed with such care that you always feel like a valued guest during your stay. I will definitely be returning here soon for another evening because the combination of the prime location and the unbeatable historical profile is truly a highlight of the local neighborhood scene.
