The welcome was very warm and the location pleasant. The rooms are a bit dated and some amenities could use updating, particularly the shower water which was only lukewarm. Also be aware: the music from the restaurant directly below is quite loud in the evening until 11 pm. Personally, it didn't bother me, but it might be a nuisance for early risers.
We were spending a couple of days at the Kenmare Bay hotel earlier this month, and dropped in at Foley's for a traditional meal and music. Ended up spending longer than planned! Our server Nadia made us feel very welcome, and we really enjoyed the live music, too! Many a familiar song to join in with.
For dinner we had Shepherd's pie, which we liked, and Irish stew, which was perhaps a little greasy for our liking. Nadia recommended their apple pie for desert, and that was a nice wrap to the evening.
We received a wonderful welcome after 10 pm, following a problem with our campervan.
The next morning, the breakfast manager was very friendly and treated us like royalty.
We stopped in Kenmare and happened to eat at Foleys. We felt comfortable from the start and ordered typical Irish food βοΈ. The food was delicious and the staff were polite and attentive. Down-to-earth, friendly, and good π β that describes it best. Thank you and hopefully see you again soon!
We went to Foleys one night for live music and light food. We could not get the QR code to work they had on the menu to order food and drinks. My phone had not been working great in Kemmare. I could never get someones attention long enough to ask for the wifi password. It took 20 mins for us to order food by asking someone to come over and take our order after try8jg 5o order it at the bar. No one asked us if we wanted another round of drinks. They did ask 4 X's if we were done with our food yet. I am a slow eater. The food was decent. I liked the soup and fries. Did not really care for the Spring rolls. It feels great in there and it is a sweet historic bar. The live music was excellent! We stayed for quite a while. Maybe we just did not understand the service structure or I am not sure.
I never had a chance to tell them the QR code would not work for us. It was very busy.
Down from Dublin with my wife. Met a fellow Dub musician in a nearby bar the night before went here. His name is Derek O Hara, with a gig on the next night in Foleys, we decided to go. We weren't disappoint. What a great set, Derek had everyone singing. Some even were brave enough to tackle the mic. Pints were great and the craic 90. Great place and atmosphere highly recommended. Keep your eye out for Derek hes a cool guy and great musician. We spent two days with him. Thanks for the memories. π
