Funké - Afro Caribbean Restaurant in Sligo

Had a lovely meal out with family and was very pleased. The food was excellent, the staff were all very friendly and genuine and the overall experience was very enjoyable. Funke is well known and recommended in Sligo and for good reason. Highly recommended.

What a gem of a restaurant. I love Funké; wonderful staff, great location and the food is amazing. Nothing is spicy unless you ask for it to be. I love the Rasta Pasta and the Likkle Beef. There's plenty of options for vegans and gluten-free diners too.

First time in here tonight and we loved it!!!! The food was so good! And the workers and owners were so kind and sweet! Will forsure be back! We already know what we want to try next!!!! Delish and beautiful color scheme to the place!

Highly recommend this place, the Rasta pasta, plantain chips, & chicken curry were incredible. My husband has dietary restrictions that we relayed to the server & after the chef came out to talk to us & was really caring about the restrictions & made our food as we requested. She was lovely. I really enjoyed the atmosphere & decor. I would love to come back!

Funké had a brilliant atmosphere and the food was unique and the exceptional. The owner and chef (who is Funké) was an absolute gem and even helped me and my family celebrate my mom’s birthday. It was our first time trying this cuisine and it won’t be the last. Highly recommend.

I would recommend this restaurant to everyone! Beautiful food, all cooked by funke herself who is a warm, lovely person. Service was great and they sang my mam happy birthday and gave her a gorgeous cake. Fab place start to finish and byo wine 🍷 🥳❤️

The "sizzling garlic buttered prawns" were not sizzling by any culinary definition of sizzling. They were heated in garlic butter and were not seared in any manner. They looked totally insipid as they had no additional colour from cooking. They tasted just ok. There was no dressing with the accompanying salad leaves despite bring referred to on the menu. It was a most unappetising looking dish. No presentation. Loved the flava chips; they were hot and tasty. The soup ordered could have been to a higher temperatures and while not spicey as advised it was very heavily flavoured with herbs, and 'repeated' later into the evening. A nice and pleasant young man serving, but we wouldn't return for the food.
