The best restaurants in Sligo

19/09/2026: We didn’t know Sligo at all, and when we saw that the restaurant was busy, we thought, “It must be good!” We never imagined it would be this wonderful! We were warmly welcomed by the manager, who was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. All the waiters were also fantastic, kind and attentive. And the burger… honestly, the best burger we have ever had in Ireland! We live in Dublin and have never tasted anything quite like it. We absolutely loved everything and made sure to tell the team how impressed we were. Congratulations to everyone involved. You’re doing an amazing job! We will definitely be back!

13/09/2026: Absolutely loved this place! We came from another county for a walk and randomly decided to eat here. The atmosphere was amazing, and the food was incredible. After 4 years living in Ireland, this is honestly some of the best food I’ve had — it reminded me of the taste of Ukraine. Highly recommend! 🇺🇦❤️

05/09/2026: On a day trip to Sligo, we had an early dinnerat The Harp Tavern. The food was really very good and included Fish and Chips with a large portion of cod and crispy chips. We also ordered the seafood chowder (pictured) which they are known for. Along with all this food, we had a cheeseburger that was very, very good. It was cooked perfectly and had a good crust on it.

01/09/2026: As a longtime New Englander, I can say this is maybe the single best bowl of seafood chowder I've ever had. It haunts me, it's so good. Stop what you're doing and go enjoy it with buttered soda bread and a Guinness.

19/07/2026: Wow! What a find. My wife and I had been looking for quality pour over coffees during our trip and found Dan at Rover. He was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing his love for coffee.

21/08/2026: Excellent pub in Sligo. The menu is similar to other pubs. I recommend asking for the special of the day, which isn't on the menu. I ate that and was satisfied.

11/08/2026: Went into the swagman the other day for some lunch.. best ceasar salad iv ever had.. Service was great and a great vibe in there :)

11/07/2026: OMG, we have just finished our main course, everyone in our party of 7 is raving about the food. Unique food, incredible flavours, a perfect culinary experience. Get in here folks, and it’s BYOB - bonus!!

17/09/2026: As for a person who doesn't tolerance spices, Udon was hot. food overall was good. Thai mango chicken was especially good as well as noodles.

06/09/2026: Parking was available right outside on Sunday. The food was delicious.

17/09/2026: Food was bad , way way over priced , can think of aload more places around sligo to get food that would be way nicer and cheaper , plus a smell of pee from the down stairs bar very dissapointed!!!!!!!

13/09/2026: Fantastic and cozy spot for dinner. Lots of seafood options and amazing bread loaf with jam. Great recommendations by server for amazing dinner - get the steak! You will not be disappointed.

11/07/2026: The food at Hargadon Bros was genuinely delicious. I had the fish and chips and my girlfriend had the burger with avocado, and we’d have no complaints on that front. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. We were seated in a nook to the left of the room, which was cosy enough but seemed to leave us invisible to the staff, and getting attention took real effort throughout the evening. The low point was dessert: after flagging down a waitress, we ordered and were brought two spoons - but the dessert itself never came. After waiting 20 minutes, I gave up and went looking for someone to bring the bill instead. A waiter did notice the spoons on our table and asked if we’d ordered dessert, but by then we no longer wanted it. Lovely food, but the service needs attention - especially for tables tucked out of sight.

07/07/2026: We arrived naively on a Saturday night when they were very busy and we could not get a table. Most places would say no and that be it. But the extremely nice hostess walked us outside and gave us great recommendations for other places to try. She took the time and effort even thought they were busy inside. You can best believe that we will be coming back here on our next trip and will remember to make a booking here due to their super nice staff and because the food smelled amazing!

13/07/2026: I was passing through Sligo and stopped at WB's for lunch. I had a sandwich the contents of which were okay however the bread was stale!

17/08/2026: We had pasta and pizza to go, everything was wonderful! The pasta with spinach and mushrooms was available vegetarian and very tasty!

16/08/2026: We didn't have a reservation on a Friday evening but they were still able to fit us in 45mins later, which was fine, we walked around outside and went into a bar for a drink. Time passed by quickly and we returned to get our table. The lady who took our name the first time we were in greeted us upon our return and was nice and friendly. The place was fully booked and I knew by the reviews that it was definitely a place to experience. We both enjoyed one of the special starters, burrata and then we had different pizzas. I had the chicken, mushroom and pesto and my partner had caramelised onion, pepperoni and goats cheese pizza. My partner enjoyed a regular glass of the house malbec wine. We would definitely return, we loved the decor and the feel of the Italian authenticity. We found it on the pricier side but it was definitely more than worth it!

21/07/2026: This place was amazing!! We were lucky enough to get a cancellation for one night in the Red Bus and my kids and I loved it. Its in the middle of nowhere which is part of the charm, no WiFi, no mobile service! Monica and Dermot were so friendly and helpful. My kids loved the novelty of sleeping on a bus and playing in the woods. There is also a games room with table tennis and few board games. There's geese, chickens and goats running round the yard which was great fun for the kids. The dog Hunter was also a big hit with my kids...they had great time playing with him. We'll be back for sure!

14/04/2026: As a teacher with students completing Gaisce, this is the best option in the West of Ireland. Dermot and Monica are exceptional hosts, and so pleasant to plan with. They provide an excellent guided 20km hike, plus great team building exercises for students. They made all of us feel at home and very supported. I could not recommend Ox Mountains Glamping any more, as a school we have not stopped talking about how much fun we had, and how smooth Monica and Dermot made the whole experience. We already can't wait to return! ⭐

16/04/2026: Stumbled into this little gem of a coffee shop at 9am and honestly, it felt like finding a secret level in a game ☕✨ While most places were still half-asleep, this spot was already buzzing with warmth, great coffee, and the kind of calm morning energy that just sets your whole day right. The prices? Almost suspiciously good for how quality everything is. If you’re an early riser or just someone chasing a peaceful start to the day, this place is a total win. Cozy, affordable, and quietly brilliant. 5 stars without hesitation 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
