23/10/2025: The best pub in Sligo! Very friendly people, live music, and delicious cider.

05/09/2025: I spent an exceptional evening at McLaughlin's Bar - the people, music (trad session), drinks and the venue itself were just amazing! I'll never forget it. 100% recommended! If you're in Sligo it's a MUST. It felt so authentic and I was stunned by the Irish hospitality. Thanks so much to everyone, especially to Myriam :)

25/04/2026: Amazing food! We went their for our last dinner in Ireland and had a wonderful evening. The food is of high quality and the waiters are very attentive.

12/04/2026: Excellent Steak. Got the ribeye rare. Lovely charcoal flavour. Think it was along with samphire. Good meal and standard for steak in price. But much better quality.

30/11/2025: A bunch of work staff were here to celebrate ahead of Christmas. Had to pay a deposit in advance. Night before meal manager called the organizer to say the menu might be limited and the full menu not available. Despite all this we went ahead. Noise deafening from large group behind. However not the restaurants fault. The bread and dips were delicious. No charge. However the food prices were just too much. 22 euro for a chicken tikka masala? It was the only option I felt I had.. the chicken supreme was almost 27 euro and a colleague had it but it was tiny and dry. Disappointing but we had fun ourselves but overall I don’t think I’d go back.

28/10/2025: We went there for a drink without going to the restaurant. The bartender is very professional and friendly, and the pub decor, dating back to 1781, is worth seeing. The Guinness is particularly delicious, and that evening there was a Latin music trio with Felip & the 2 Eddies—the icing on the cake!

24/08/2025: I don’t know the area but if you’re after filter coffee in Sligo, go here. Perfect brew.

03/05/2026: Stopped in on my trip to Ireland and listened to a group of guys having a music session. They were really good. Bartender were also friendly.

06/05/2026: I like the food and the staff are quick and lovely. But the atmosphere is a little less appealing. It's separated into little areas and no background music with bright lights, so it's not a very pleasant environment to eat in. Particularly the small room at the front is just really quiet, I always find myself whispering to not automatically have a conversation with the whole room. The side nooks are a bit better. I think some background music and better lighting would already make a big difference in terms of atmosphere.

05/05/2026: This is a quirky pup to enjoy a pint and some food. Good Guinness and gorgeous Oysters with one of the nicest dressings. The food service staff were superb and really looked after us, the 2 lads at the bar however serving pints could do with learning to smile and having a bit of craic. I’ll defiantly be back for Oysters here.

27/10/2025: I’m really disappointed with how my cousin and I were treated at this pub. My cousin is autistic, and instead of showing any understanding or patience, the staff were rude and dismissive toward her. We were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, which completely ruined what was meant to be a nice night out… Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and kindness — especially those who might experience the world differently. I’d really hope the management takes this seriously and provides proper training to their bouncers especially on how to treat all customers with understanding and empathy. We definitely won’t be returning until we know that’s changed. Literally pushing my autistic cousin out at the end of the night which nearly made her fall down the stairs of this pub!

18/05/2026: Me and my partner stayed in one of the junior suites the room was very spacious and comfortable and the kitchenette was a little bonus we had a great stay and plan to come back as we've stayed other times, the staff are genuinely lovely and helpful when needed, the food in the restaurant is great too.

18/05/2026: As the car drove up towards the hotel, I was literally in awe. This magnificent castle looks amazing. The check in process very quick and the reception very courtesy. The room was big, a little too big for myself with those extra bed but ut still feels very comfy. Oooh I love the breakfast. There's so many choices to eat. And they have indoor swimming pool too. I was planning to go yo swim but because I was busy so I miss my chance. I guess I just had to go back he he he. The castle sits on top of small hill and facing an abundant of amazing view. I love it when I found a small secluded peaceful corner just after the entrance. The whole experience was pleasant and amazing. Oh and they do midnight munchies from midnight until 2am. I love it. I always hungry before bed. So I got to eat a nice pepperoni pizza at 2am.

09/05/2026: Since leaving San Francisco in '22 I've been looking for a good taco and burrito. The wait is over!!!! I can't say enough great things about this place, the staff, and the FOOD. It's exceptional. Need a Mexican food fix, this place is it. Get the mango salsa, too... it's out of this world.

15/04/2026: My family stayed in the Riverside Hotel recently while my husband was attending hospital. We have stayed here several times, but this stay especially warranted a review. The lady at reception, Erin, quite literally moved heaven and earth for us. She went above and beyond to help us. She is an absolute credit to the hotel! A lovely woman, the hotel is blessed to have her!
