Clayton Hotel Sligo in Sligo

As the car drove up towards the hotel, I was literally in awe. This magnificent castle looks amazing. The check in process very quick and the reception very courtesy. The room was big, a little too big for myself with those extra bed but ut still feels very comfy. Oooh I love the breakfast. There's so many choices to eat. And they have indoor swimming pool too. I was planning to go yo swim but because I was busy so I miss my chance. I guess I just had to go back he he he. The castle sits on top of small hill and facing an abundant of amazing view. I love it when I found a small secluded peaceful corner just after the entrance. The whole experience was pleasant and amazing. Oh and they do midnight munchies from midnight until 2am. I love it. I always hungry before bed. So I got to eat a nice pepperoni pizza at 2am.

Me and my partner stayed in one of the junior suites the room was very spacious and comfortable and the kitchenette was a little bonus we had a great stay and plan to come back as we've stayed other times, the staff are genuinely lovely and helpful when needed, the food in the restaurant is great too.

Clean friendly with character great trip

Absolutely freezing cold. It’s May and I’m in my room with my coat on. Contacted reception to ask for heating to be turned on in my room… told it only comes on at certain times. Other than that a lovely location. Rooms are spacious and really clean. Staff are very friendly and really attentive. A bit far from town, you will need a taxi if you want to drink and eat in town, €10-€14 each way. So unfortunately because of the cold rooms I’m give it 9 out of 15 stars, but because of the freezing cold rooms I give it 12 out of 15. I’m now going to get into bed to keep warm. It’s like they set the heating based on recent good weather, when I fact the weather forecast says there is frost due in this region over night. Added since posting- the ‘heating’ came on at 7pm and it’s barely tepid. It is far from adequate for the size of the room and very high ceiling. Such a pity they let themselves down. Definitely not a location I would want to stay in during winter or early spring if this is how they manage the heating. Tried to order food to my room after falling asleep until 9:40pm and told no room service between 9.30pm and 11pm… what the…! Now the problem is trying to get a delivery from outside given how far away the hotel is from town.

What a lovely clean hotel with very friendly staff..We cant wait to stay again :)

The hotel is super, I liked everything, it's perfect for a family vacation.

Big rooms, comfy bed and a range of different pillows and nice bath. The shower head in the room we were allocated needed fixing as did the hairdryer. We booked a king room online but when we arrived we were advised only an accessible king room was on offer or a twin room so be mindful that the room you book on their website may be incorrect. Gym and pool good to have and in a great big location.

Very satisfied with this place. 1 night. Quiet during our stay. It must be different in high season. The hotel has an amazing past, it used to be a psychiatric hospital. You can really feel the atmosphere of its past in certain parts of the hotel 😅👻🇮🇪 Haunted mansion?? 😜

Excellent stay The hotel is well set up for families. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool and other facilities were perfect for kids.

Rooms were nice, Service was great. Location was ok.
