Cafe Victor
Sligo
14/06/2025: Cafe Victor is a great little spot with a warm and inviting atmosphere. I spent around €16 on a latte and a delicious homemade quiche, both of which were fresh and full of flavour. The place has a cozy, relaxed vibe, making it perfect for a leisurely coffee break or light lunch. The staff were friendly and welcoming, providing attentive service without being overbearing. Overall, a nice café to unwind and enjoy good food in a comfortable setting.
12/06/2025: Not attractive from the outside, but excellent inside

Sligo Oyster Experience
Sligo
25/06/2025: Great oysters. And glass of bubbles
Would highly recommend
09/04/2025: I took a group on the private oyster farm tour in Strandhill yesterday. They had such an amazing time. Set in one of the most scenic parts of Ireland, Aisling was a wealth of knowledge about the fine art of oyster farming and provided the group with plenty of world-class yet locally sourced cuisine to sample. I'll definitely be recommending visitors to enjoy this one of a kind experience.

The Railway Bar & Lincoln's Sligo
Sligo
12/07/2025: Nice pub with a relaxed atmosphere. The steak sandwich with peppercorn sauce was particularly delicious. Recommended👍
07/07/2025: I think it’s absolutely genius to have a pub right in front of the station! Perfect for a quick stop before or after your train — so convenient and very Irish in the best way.

Insomnia Coffee Company - Sligo O'Connell St
Sligo
25/06/2025: Great space on O’Connell street with loads of seating. Coffee is great and good atmosphere but I have to give credit to the two baristas Lena and Deirdre who always have a smile on their face despite often busy times. They both always have a enthusiastic welcome for all customers alike and I’ve personally seen them dealing with challenging customers very professionally. A credit to the hospitality industry , well done ladies, keep up the great work 😃🫶🏼🙏
15/06/2025: I completely honestly haven’t ever had a good coffee in Ireland (or the Uk) but we had a quick stop in Sligo to use the loo and grab a coffee, and it was the best coffee i’ve ever had out of Australia. I’m a barista myself and an avid coffee drinking, so i’m a little bit picky. Mo (short for a much longer name i can’t remember) made such a lovely cappuccino for me, and Lucas, who served us, was very friendly as well.
Unfortunately, as i was rushing out to make it to my bus, I split my packet of blueberries on the floor and they went everywhere. I would’ve helped clean them up if I wasn’t getting dangerously close to missing my bus, but the two assured me that it was okay to run off. Thank you to the two of you, you were lovely and I wish you the best in life!

O'Briens Sandwich Café
Sligo
04/07/2025: Older staff are very rude, my friend and I went in for food and I ordered 2 sandwiches for myself and went to sit and wait , my friend then went to order a sandwich for herself and the older woman said “did that one not order one for you”, my friend said no I want to order, and from half way across the room the woman shouted “did you not order 2”, I said yes for myself, I shouldn’t have to go into a cafe worrying about people judging me for what I order I can order as much as I like if I’m paying for it so it would be nice for them to mind their own business and just make what their asked too. We were then waiting for our food to come and a different older staff member came over with our plates and put down the 3rd one and said “this one here for your friend that’s coming”, but we had no 3rd friend the 3rd plate was for me, so it would be nice to come into a cafe and not have people making assumptions and making us feel like it was illegal to order 2 sandwiches.
14/06/2025: O’Briens Sandwich Café is a solid choice when you want a quick, tasty bite without any fuss. I spent around €8 on a sandwich and a coffee — both fresh and satisfying. The sandwiches are well made with good fillings, perfect for grabbing on the go or a casual sit-down. The place has a bright, no-nonsense vibe, and the staff are friendly and efficient, keeping things moving smoothly. If you’re after something simple, reliable, and quick, O’Briens does the job nicely.

Le Fournil
Sligo
05/07/2025: I am a chocoholic - I've sampled the best chocolates in Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands and I have to say I am obsessed with Clo's Atlantic dark chocolate bar, made with Knocknarea honey, hazelnuts and sea salt. I buy it from Fallon and Byrne in Dublin - and from here when I'm home. It is utterly indulgent and delicious and doesn't taste overly processed or bulked out with cheaper ingredients - like many Irish "artisan" chocolate bars on the market.
I've never eaten in the cafe but I've bought chocolate and desserts to take away from here on several occasions and I am so impressed with the quality, particularly the local whiskey chocolates. However, I can't speak for the coffee or pastries. I love the whole layout and cheerful look of the bakery/cafe too. The staff have always been kind and helpful. Sligo has a lot of very average bakeries so we are lucky to have a French style bakery in the town. Be aware that there is a 20c charge for a paper bag and they charge for the boxes you buy chocolates in.
26/04/2025: Good coffee but stodgy doughnut filled with cheap jam. ? Changed ownership - false economies - coukd not currently recommend pastry and used to be great

Osta Café and Wine Bar
Sligo
13/07/2025: Didn’t have a great experience in osta recently. Food was extremely disappointing. However the girl who served us was very nice and understanding
05/07/2025: I have been going to Osta for many years but I have to say recent experiences have been a huge disappointment. The vegetarian options for breakfast/brunch are very limited. The pancakes with almonds, yogurt and honey were a favourite but the new menu has replaced almonds with gritty flaxseeds that stick in your teeth. I recently ordered a breakfast without bacon - asking to sub it for 2 potato cakes instead. The waitress served my order with bacon and 2 extra potato cakes. English wasn't her first language and she had clearly misunderstood me. When I paid I had been charged for the additional potato cakes - and paid full price for breakfast with the bacon. I noticed on my receipt after I left.
On my recent visit I ordered the vegan beans on toast and it was utterly bland, unseasoned and quite dry - a very unpleasant texture that was hard to digest and I left the rest of my meal uneaten. Certainly not worth €9 for some tinned beans and tomatoes on dry toast.
The bathroom is one of the worst I've seen in a cafe in recent years . It is oddly orientated, feels grubby, you can hear the kitchen staff audibly. The last time I used it was this weekend and I was absolutely disgusted by the state of the toilet. The seat had been left up by the man who used the bathroom before me and the underside of the seat was completely stained yellow and brown by what looks like years worth of urine. It has totally put me off eating here if the owners can't even buy a new toilet seat, and certainly it seems that the bathroom has not received a deep clean for years. Staff shouldn't be expected to maintain clean subpar facilities.
All that being said, the floor staff are to be commended, they are always very polite, helpful and efficient. I really hope that improvements to facilities are forthcoming, as it was one of my favourite cafes to go to on regular visits home.

Henrys
Sligo
29/05/2025: My wife and I dined there on the recommendation of our B&B host. We were not disappointed. The menu is all encompassing, the food is beautiful and the meals are large and very reasonably priced. The service too was good and the staff were very engaging. If you’re in the area, it’s well worth visiting 10/10
25/04/2025: Popped in for Sunday Lunch as we do any time we are staying in Bundoran.
We got seated right away with no booking, but we came at a great time as unfortunately, anyone after us had to wait as there were bookings coming in.
The Vegetable Soup for starters was delicious and we opted for the Roast Beef with Peppercorn Sauce and it was also very nice. Left us not fit for dessert!!
All of the staff are extremely friendly and quick to accommodate to needs.
Definitely recommend to anyone in the area or passing through!
