The best restaurants in Sligo

03/11/2025: The garavogue has turned into a dump of a pub with some of the most ignorant bouncers I've ever met. Thankfully I don't go out much but will make sure to not go back there.

22/09/2025: We had an excellent experience on Saturday for my sister in law to be’s hen party. We had a cocktail class, led by the very professional bar manager (I’m so sorry I cannot recall his name), expertly led and very accommodating, my sister is a wheelchair user and he brought the cocktail ingredients to her table and completed the demo - afterwards we went into Maeve’s for a drink where they cleared a table to ensure we all got to sit together at a low table to accommodate the wheelchair. We then went to Waxies for our dinner, we had a two course menu - the food was divine and the staff were absolutely lovely there also.. We returned to Garravogue later on for some dancing, a table was reserved for us alongside some complimentary shots!! Special shout out to Robbie, the head doorman - he was brilliant, nothing was ever an issue, he was so accommodating 😁

09/04/2026: Fresh delicious aromatic food, that was succulent on the tongue and light on the belly. Atmosphere great for lovers or large groups too. Good veggy options too.

07/04/2026: Absolutely fantastic experience! The server was very attentive and helpful with all requests. Not to mention the food was absolutely phenomenal! Highly recommended.

11/04/2026: The breakfast offering was a disgrace for 4 star 17e. No pastries, no real bread selection, no real fruit selection, no cheese and meat. The saltiest scrambled egg. You'd get better in a 3 star. The rooms where nice and the staff friendly but the hotel needs upgrading. The location is the only 4 star thing about it

11/04/2026: Great location, friendly staff, good Guinness, but for those with dust allergies, I don't recommend it. The room had very heavy air, I think the carpet wasn't vacuumed properly. The water disappeared from the sink twice, but the problem was resolved quickly. The pizza was below average, the dough was a bit undercooked, we had to send it back.

26/03/2026: Disgusting. First, I waited for someone to come up to me and order, even though there were no other customers. Then I spent half an hour explaining what I wanted, but they didn't understand me; the person barely spoke English. The place has no atmosphere, like a cafeteria at a bus station. The food is disgusting. I ordered fried octopus with vegetables. The only vegetables were onions and a few pathetic carrots. The octopus wasn't fresh; I spat it out into a napkin. The service was also terrible. They didn't ask if I needed anything else, they didn't even bring me water. I won't come here again.

30/12/2025: Been a loyal customer for su way for over 7 years, eating the same sandwich which is a hearty italian bmt with bacon, the amount of pepperoni and salami were supposed to be 6 each yat only got 4 each, since when is it 1 euro for some grated cheese??? Also was overcharged, my 2x subway sandwiches were supposed to come to 18.40e yat I paid 20.20e, corporate will be notified about this and its a scam on all customers for my point of view.

02/11/2025: I have ordered home delivery from Subway on Mail Coach rd. One sandwich was missing, when I reng to say that they offered free sandwich nxt time even tho I said I don't know when I'll ever order again. No cash back. No delivering missing sandwich. Rest of sandwiches were poorly wraped, and there was no indication on what is what sandwich. Had to open them all and check. 5 people at the house waiting for order, and one of us just didn't get it. Awful experience, wouldn't recommend!

06/08/2025: Delicious coffee, nice staff. Beautiful view of the river from the terrace.

07/07/2025: I enjoy the food but not the beverages. I ordered a cappuccino which was very weak and tasteless. Was advised they use medium roast. Tea also bland. Not to my taste but the cakes and scones are good.

16/11/2025: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! ordered a spice box and they didnt give it to us. not to mention the last time they took an hour and a half to come and it looked like there was a booger on the food and there was hair in it. terribly rude staff didnt even offer a refund or a new munch box. never order from here ive gotten food poisoning a few times from the chicken being uncooked too

01/12/2025: I rang many times, no answer. I went in person to the shop ,waited for 10 mins, no service. They need extra staff.

11/03/2026: Best fish and chippie in Sligo. AMAZING service. We turned up in Sligolate after our accommodation was cancelled on us, we were hungry and tired from a day of travel. it was dark and raining and we got a fabulous feed and the owner more than accommodating and helped us find accommodation and transport to it. They saved us from a night on the street

23/02/2026: Good spot. Got a very tasty cheese burger meal today.

12/11/2025: Seriously one of the best pints of Guinness I’ve had in Ireland. Rivals some of the best in Dublin if not better

25/04/2025: This kebab was class, cheapest nicotine and food around, sabbir was very helpful and kind. The toilets are clean and smooth.
