The best restaurants in Sligo

12/08/2025: A typical Irish pub in a small town on the way to the Slieve League. The atmosphere is warm, the staff young and friendly, and the food excellent. We tried their superb burger. A special mention: the beer prices are slightly lower than the average of other pubs in the area! We didn't get a chance to try the desserts, but we did see a pretty good brownie pass by.

05/07/2025: I am a chocoholic - I've sampled the best chocolates in Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands and I have to say I am obsessed with Clo's Atlantic dark chocolate bar, made with Knocknarea honey, hazelnuts and sea salt. I buy it from Fallon and Byrne in Dublin - and from here when I'm home. It is utterly indulgent and delicious and doesn't taste overly processed or bulked out with cheaper ingredients - like many Irish "artisan" chocolate bars on the market. I've never eaten in the cafe but I've bought chocolate and desserts to take away from here on several occasions and I am so impressed with the quality, particularly the local whiskey chocolates. However, I can't speak for the coffee or pastries. I love the whole layout and cheerful look of the bakery/cafe too. The staff have always been kind and helpful. Sligo has a lot of very average bakeries so we are lucky to have a French style bakery in the town. Be aware that there is a 20c charge for a paper bag and they charge for the boxes you buy chocolates in.

26/04/2025: Good coffee but stodgy doughnut filled with cheap jam. ? Changed ownership - false economies - coukd not currently recommend pastry and used to be great

10/09/2025: I checked into this hotel today. The service received at the bar by a young blonde girl was the poorest service I have received. Not only did she roll her eyes when asked a question she was rude to all the people in our party.

09/09/2025: 4 stars all the way! Excellent rooms, dining. Clean and quick service. Breakfast and dinner.

22/09/2025: We had an excellent experience on Saturday for my sister in law to be’s hen party. We had a cocktail class, led by the very professional bar manager (I’m so sorry I cannot recall his name), expertly led and very accommodating, my sister is a wheelchair user and he brought the cocktail ingredients to her table and completed the demo - afterwards we went into Maeve’s for a drink where they cleared a table to ensure we all got to sit together at a low table to accommodate the wheelchair. We then went to Waxies for our dinner, we had a two course menu - the food was divine and the staff were absolutely lovely there also.. We returned to Garravogue later on for some dancing, a table was reserved for us alongside some complimentary shots!! Special shout out to Robbie, the head doorman - he was brilliant, nothing was ever an issue, he was so accommodating 😁

21/07/2025: An absolute disgrace 😤 there prices and cost of produce are near extortionate, paying 3.25 for a chocolate muffin amd also paying a charge of 75 cent to use there tables and chairs ,plus paying 9.30 cent for two coffees with an added charge to use a chair ,thank god we are only passing through and will never be back FACT

25/06/2025: Tasty food and coffee. They only had granary bread but that was fine.

11/08/2025: Ok so I asked for a cheeseburger without onions and they still gave me onions but the chips are nice

06/08/2025: Great pizza and the other options were great as well. We had fish n chips also and it was amazing. Highly recommend this place.

01/06/2025: Very bad food avoid. Food ... Was Not what was ordered. 2x chicken (fillet) bacon and cheese and toppings 2x curry cheese coleslaw chips! If only I could add a picture.. What I got,was a dryed out 2x chicken burger.."not fillet"cheap chicken ..no bacon no cheese..and something green a slimy maybe lettuce at some time in it life..but not even burger sauce no dressing...only a big lump of coleslaw on both .. Shocking... To see... Both burger's completely uneatable..... Curry chips....no comment! No customer care..out of sight out of mind... Next time il be spending my 30 euro elsewhere... Food will be returned tomorrow when re opened

21/08/2025: Service is good but food is not upto standard taste. There is lack of variety on menu and quite less option of vegetarian. I would avoid this resturant in future.

20/07/2025: Hated it. We had to leave all of the food because it tasted really unhealthy. It seemed like one of the dishes had food colour and full of ketchup instead of “sweet chilli” sauce. Couldnt spot single shred of egg in egg fried rice. I understand spring rolls are deep fried but it was dripping oil.

03/07/2025: Food was delicious! Their chicken cheese rolls are so yummy and they have the most delicious shredded chicken I've ever had! Service is quick and the staff are all so lovely :))

04/09/2025: Been here loaaaaaads of times and has never disappointed I love the calm environment and my girlfriends said it’s the best tarka daal she’s ever had I usually go for the madras and the peshwari naan is amazing. I end up being roasting in here so the heating could go down a bit 😂 Never disappoints when it comes to food though for us

28/08/2025: The best bar in Sligo for Live Music and great atmosphere. Lots of funny and nice locals, great music, perfect pub atmosphere. We liked it a lot and would come back without any second thought.

07/07/2025: I enjoy the food but not the beverages. I ordered a cappuccino which was very weak and tasteless. Was advised they use medium roast. Tea also bland. Not to my taste but the cakes and scones are good.

19/02/2025: En: I didn't eat there because I went there at 10 p.m. and there was really dancing going on there. This is a good place if you want to dance with your friends. Penalty: The women's toilets can be hard to access. That's all. A logical penalty when you see how many people there are. It's also sad that it closes at midnight. Fr: I didn't eat there, so I can't rate the food. I arrived at 10 p.m. and there was already a lot of dancing. Also, the bar closes at 12:30 a.m., which is very early compared to France. It's a good bar if you want to dance with your friends, but the toilets are difficult to access. Which is normal when you see how many people there are.

01/09/2025: This Pub was a great place for decades until March 2025 when it was sold . New owner loaded everywhere with speakers and Stupid Loud bands now play on Fri , Sat and now Sunday evenings make it an unbearable place , the remaining Lounge punters gather around the front door and outside the toilet area to shield themselves from the noise . Disaster of a place . Avoid .
