Le Fournil
Sligo
05/07/2025: I am a chocoholic - I've sampled the best chocolates in Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands and I have to say I am obsessed with Clo's Atlantic dark chocolate bar, made with Knocknarea honey, hazelnuts and sea salt. I buy it from Fallon and Byrne in Dublin - and from here when I'm home. It is utterly indulgent and delicious and doesn't taste overly processed or bulked out with cheaper ingredients - like many Irish "artisan" chocolate bars on the market.
I've never eaten in the cafe but I've bought chocolate and desserts to take away from here on several occasions and I am so impressed with the quality, particularly the local whiskey chocolates. However, I can't speak for the coffee or pastries. I love the whole layout and cheerful look of the bakery/cafe too. The staff have always been kind and helpful. Sligo has a lot of very average bakeries so we are lucky to have a French style bakery in the town. Be aware that there is a 20c charge for a paper bag and they charge for the boxes you buy chocolates in.
26/04/2025: Good coffee but stodgy doughnut filled with cheap jam. ? Changed ownership - false economies - coukd not currently recommend pastry and used to be great

Cafe Victor
Sligo
14/06/2025: Cafe Victor is a great little spot with a warm and inviting atmosphere. I spent around €16 on a latte and a delicious homemade quiche, both of which were fresh and full of flavour. The place has a cozy, relaxed vibe, making it perfect for a leisurely coffee break or light lunch. The staff were friendly and welcoming, providing attentive service without being overbearing. Overall, a nice café to unwind and enjoy good food in a comfortable setting.
12/06/2025: Not attractive from the outside, but excellent inside

O'Hehirs Bakery
Sligo
21/07/2025: An absolute disgrace 😤 there prices and cost of produce are near extortionate, paying 3.25 for a chocolate muffin amd also paying a charge of 75 cent to use there tables and chairs ,plus paying 9.30 cent for two coffees with an added charge to use a chair ,thank god we are only passing through and will never be back FACT
25/06/2025: Tasty food and coffee. They only had granary bread but that was fine.

Scoopdogs
Sligo
12/10/2023: Beautiful clothes and lovely staff who provide the very best customer service. Gorgeous Tara works so hard showcasing all the latest pieces on her weekly Facebook lives. I have so many outfits from Poppy Lane, casual to smart and always get compliments. Outstanding 💖🌸🌺
30/07/2023: I called in Saturday. I’ve not actually been in before but follow Tara and team on FB and always loved the look of the shop on the outside. Well, I loved it! It’s so colourful and easy to navigate. Fiona helped me with picking dresses and was lovely and chatty. Myself and my daughter found lots of lovely pieces and we will definitely be back again!!

Bourbon Bar
Sligo
09/11/2025: Tonight a bouncer took pleasure in listening on a very private conversation and decided to add his two cents, insulting my friend about a very private matter and commenting that she never stops talking. Very disappointed with this place…
02/09/2025: Spent a rainy evening watching the football in the bar with my girlfriend during our last trip to sligo. Really enjoyed the space and the young Australian barman was extremely good even offered to help us plan a pub quiz at the bars sister bar later that night and give us a run down of things on that week. Thought this was really good for people visiting and for the marketing of the bars .

Bulbens Bar & Bistro
Sligo
18/06/2025: Food is nice but two major complaints:
The service and service speed are ATROCIOUS. First of all we waited in a queue for ages to be seated with no one on the door. When we finally were seated, a waitress attempted to take our drinks order, only to find that she did not have her writing pad. We were then told that a different waiter would take our order, who walked off, only for us to be served by a different waitress again. After giving our drinks orders, we waited over 20 minutes forrrrr - nothing. That waitress then returned after us calling her over only to tell us that our drinks order never went through and we had to place our drinks order a second time. Finally our drinks then arrived. Similar to the other two occasions that we had previously visited, we waited well over 30 minutes for both our mains and deserts and second round of drinks, only to discover that one person had received the complete wrong drink AND the food request of no mash had been completely ignored - imagine if the customer bad an allergy - the dish arrived with mash anyway - despite clear communication from that person as to what drink they wanted and they wanted no mash, this miscommunication that had to he rectified which of course, in true fashion, took an eternity also. Eventually we got the bill after several attempts to flag down a waiter. Additionally, another portion of chips that we did not order arrived which had to be sent away. Service rant over brings me to my second complaint- the pricing. The bill came out to over €180 which is pure lunacy for four mains and desserts, and two rounds of drinks with no starters. I understand that this is a hotel in a somewhat touristy area so naturally there will be markup but not to an extent where a main costs over €12 above the average elsewhere. Now, I hope this review doesn’t come across as me being a miserable old guit who only wants to complain because that certainly is not the case. With that, I will now begin to discuss the positives. The staff were vert friendly and understanding despite all the mix ups and as previously mentioned the food itself was very nice. There just seems to be a lot of miscommunication between the servers and them and the kitchen, or the kitchen may be understaffed, there also isn’t a very good menu choice however that isn’t exclusive to this restaurant and appears to be a running theme throughout the restaurants in this area so I don’t think it is fair to penalise them on this matter as the cost of everything continues to rise for these establishments.
13/04/2025: Good food and well proportionate portions
