Nice place, but I have had better steaks for more economical prices. The difference between my medium well striploin, and my husband's medium Ribeye was astronomical. Mine, although quite pink inside it was full of nerve tendons and that made it difficult to chew. Mash potatoes were quite lumpy too. I will try a different place next time I'm in Dublin.

Had dinner with 4 friends on New Year’s Eve and the entire meal and the service was spectacular from start to finish. The cocktail orders were with us in 5 minutes from ordering (we each got a different type just to be super awkward). We got the cote de bouf and chateaubriand to split between 4 which was amazing and one of our friends is a vegetarian and she said her dish was exceptional too. The wine and all the sides were exceptional. Nothing short of the standards I’ve come to expect. Already dreaming of my next visit.

My wife and I are here for an occasion. The service was exceptional. Starters and wine were beautiful, and the chateaubriand was the best I’ve ever eaten, as well as all that accompanied it. Expect to pay about €60 per steak, but it is well worth it. Advisable to book in advance too.

Decided to head back to FX Buckleys’ in Pembroke Street, last visit was February 2019 for my birthday 🎂 if my memory is correct. It has changed a bit and I think it is nicer. The staff are excellent as per last visit and service was perfect. The food and presentation is very good and the atmosphere is lovely. They were very busy which is good to see and a good few Americans so getting the tourist business. Prices are fair by today’s standards and when food and service is good, price is not as important. A mediocre meal is never good value. Highly recommended

15/01/2025: I would like to mention the extraordinary attention that Carlos offered us. The food was delicious.
11/01/2025: Darwins is somewhere that I have gone too a few times now and intend to visit again this year. You simply can't fault the table service. The food is of a very high standard and most of my group enjoyed their meal. The only exception this time around was a steak that was not as jucy as the previous time and a bit on the thin side. The pepper sauce and the veg etc. where superb, and on the strength of my previous experiences, I would recommend and go again. If you have read any of my previous reviews, you may notice I mention the toilets. In this case, they are clean, easy to find, and stocked with paper. 😉. You will not regret a visit here with Amy and the rest of the staff.
