Pricey, but I guess thats normal for the temple bar area. Food is excellent but the reason for three stars is the unwillingness of the waitress to change our table after having strongly insisted on it. The people sitting next to us were terribly loud and super annoying, so we wanted to change the table, but all we got was a reply from the waitress: "You already ordered and changing tables would kind of mess up our organization". There were plenty of empty tables. I would've expected more effort to ensure customer satisfaction.

Best dinner I ate in Ireland. Would love to go back and try other things on the menu. I got the corned beef boxty without the cream sauce. The whiskey and the red ale were also excellent.

What can I say about this hidden gem in the Temple Bar area of Dublin?
Well surprisingly a lot and you have to experience the food and ambience to love it as much as I did. This restaurant gives you everything the Irish are famous for like the food, hospitality, friendliness, charm and love of music and life.
Food was amazing and I would recommend the Gaelix Boxty.
David our waiter was fabulous and even though the restaurant was full he found time to make us feel that we were his only table.
He was so easy going yet professional, his demeanor was awesome, he had a wonderful way of letting us know that he was always there for us without interruptimg our conversation or meal. As we were paying for dinner we got the chance to talk a little with him and he brought a smile to my face as he knew I was a Mackem as soon as I told him I was originally from Sunderland. Oh and that @SAFC had made it back to the EFL premiership this year. These little things would make any guest feel special.
If you are ever in Dublin Temple Bar area stop by and tell David him I sent you. 😉

We turned up without a reservation, but were lucky enough to get a table downstairs (it was lovely and cool). Our server, Oogee was a dream, so friendly and gave us great recommendations.
The pickles were insanely good and the Mediterranean boxty fries were delicious. The main course was divine, a medium rare steak and mushroom mix.
So good we came back! And we got extra lucky because we also got Oogee again!
Party of 12 in July. Seated downstairs, service was quick, and food was good for the majority of our table. Only one person left waiting for their meal, while we all ate. The beef cheek is highly recommended. Main reason for the 3* is due to the waitress being 'off' we werent paying a full 'discretionary tip' charge.
When she realised we werent paying the 60euro discretionary tip on the receipt, she questioned that we hadn't paid enough. I went through the bill, advised we had all paid for our meals and decided the tip didn't need to be so high. She wasn't happy about it, she took the remaining cash and walked off!
Numerous people had paid on their cards, so she laid the card machine on the table whilst i ran through the transactions, adding them up as one by one - how embarrassing, but my figure was correct. And we had already overpaid, with a tip of around 20euro, which we felt was adequate for the food and time we had been in there.
Great experience. Hostess was so welcoming and funny! Waitress- Debbie- was so sweet! Food was also excellent!

We split the Boxty platter and a sticky toffee pudding. Everything tasted great. We were lucky enough to get seated by the window and loved people watching. I had the Granny Smyth cocktail which I would recommend. Staff were lovely. It was nice to try something we can’t find at home. Little pricey, but normal for Dublin and the area.
