Girl and the Goose Restaurant in Dublin

To find this place one am has to walk through Ballsbridge and look for a green door almost hidden between 2 pubs. Walking up the stairs leads to a nice restaurant with themed decorations. The interior is nice. The atmosphere possibly too quiet considering that the room was almost empty. Food is good and the chef clearly makes an effort: recipes are not obvious and the presentation is lovely. Taste is not as consistently good as we would have liked. We had one dish lacking salt, one (the special) that couldn't get much taste even after adding salt twice and one that was even too tasty. I would have preferred to be warned that the special that I ordered had basically the same taste as one of the starters (the croquettes). Coffee felt overpriced: 3.10 for a cup or Nespresso?

Popped in on a Saturday evening during a weekend trip to Dublin as it was highly rated on tripadvisor in the area near our hotel. The restaurant doesn't have a frontage at street level being up a staircase between two pubs but very worth finding. The food was really excellent and for the standard pretty reasonably priced. Very nice surroundings and very friendly and professional staff. I'd return here without hesitation if back in the area again. Highly recommend.

Stumbled accross the most brilliant restaurant - At Irish Soccer International against England was looking at everywhere along the stretch of Paddy Cullen Pub - when a total stranger mentioned that he heard the Girl and Goose was good - He was wrong - It was better than good it was absolutely fantastic - Best Beef and Guinness Pie I have eaten in the last 30 years - David the waiter from Brazil was one of the most relaxed I have encountered and very friendly and we had good conversations with him through each course when delivered - I do not leave many Google Reviews - but this is a spectacular hidden gem - David

We both can't wait to come back for sure, favorite restaurant in Dublin. My partner was extremely happy as this was suprise for him. Place is nice and cosy, just a vibe you want to come back. Very clean from restaurant to toilets. Staff is very fast and helpful when serving. But, food 10 out of 10. Huge portions, so tasty, fresh with a special touch. I think that most of the food on menu you can just find in their restaurant as the chef/owner created them as a signature dishes. You must try goose crocets, it is something so different and tasty. Very reasonable prices comparing to other restaurant where they are offering fish and chips, pizza, burgers on every corner. I am always critical when it comes to food and services as we had some amazing meals around Europe. I actually can't find anything that I would say it was less then 10. They where fully booked and from the vibe you can see they have costumers that are coming back becuase the whole package they offer. I noticed that as well they offer kids menu and they are willing to prepare whatever they want. If I have restaurant, I would be very proud to be behind this name. Well done everyone!

Absolutely amazing. Great for coeliacs, vegetarians and vegans. So many options for gluten free and delicious too!
