The food was so unreal!!! I did not expect the toast/sandwhich to taste this good!! It was literally perfect! The best sandwich i’ve ever had my life. Not to mention, the service was amazing. I unknowingly tried to order a couple of minutes before closing and instead of rejecting me, they told me that they could still make my sandwich. 10/10! will 100% come here again

This place is just a little hole in the wall. There are meals you enjoy, and then there are meals that completely reset your expectations for what something simple can be. That’s exactly what happened when I walked into this toastie spot in Ireland. I expected a decent grilled sandwich. What I got instead was one of the most perfectly crafted comfort foods I’ve ever eaten. The first thing you notice is the crunch. Not just a light toast—this is the kind of golden, buttery crisp that makes an audible crack the moment you bite into it. The bread is toasted to absolute perfection: deeply golden on the outside, but still soft enough inside to give that satisfying contrast. It’s the kind of texture balance most places try to achieve but rarely pull off this well. Then comes the filling. Every ingredient tastes intentional, like nothing is just thrown together. The cheese melts into that ideal stretch—rich, creamy, and smooth—while the fillings stay tender and flavorful without ever making the bread soggy. Somehow everything stays perfectly structured: crispy shell, molten center, and flavors that hit all the right notes. What really stood out was the texture journey in every bite. Crunch on the outside. Warm, tender fillings inside. That silky melted cheese pulling everything together. It’s the kind of bite that makes you pause mid-conversation because your brain needs a second to process how good it is. And the flavor? Deep, savory, comforting in the way only simple ingredients done exceptionally well can be. There’s something almost magical about how they elevate something as humble as a toastie into something memorable. It’s not complicated food—it’s just done perfectly. And that’s much harder to pull off than people think. The atmosphere only makes it better. There’s a cozy, welcoming energy that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a local secret. You can tell this is the kind of place people return to again and again. The staff clearly care about what they’re serving, and that attention shows up in every detail. By the time I finished, I was already thinking about the next time I could come back. That’s always the true test of a great place: when one visit instantly turns into a craving. Honestly, if you’re anywhere near this spot in Ireland, do yourself a favor and go. Don’t overthink it. Don’t say “maybe later.” Just go get a toastie. Because once you try it, you’ll understand exactly why people keep coming back. It’s crispy, comforting, ridiculously satisfying, and somehow manages to turn a simple sandwich into something unforgettable. Some places serve food. This place serves the kind of bite that lives in your memory long after the plate is empty.

Yamamori Tengu

16/08/2026: Menu keeps changing for the worse in this place…no choice on Japanese beers. No wagyu available…removed the cool big screen tv showing flicks. It’s like the owners have stopped caring Ate dinner for young family of 5. Two kids portions between three. Some Japas, sushi and a steak, 3 wines and one desert for €275!! They forgot my order and got two things wrong but had the cheek to include a tip built into the bill (hate that practise). Only my wife was full. Removed the tip. Unlikely to be back…used to be my favourite restaurant but I get why it was almost empty at 6 on a Saturday. Rip off
09/08/2026: A friendly well run Club with a bohemian style. Great sound system. Fab smoking area with bamboo 'greening'. Pints about €8.20 euro. Plenty of loos. Cloak room provided. Lovely staff. Well worth a visit.
