Super convenient for getting to Dublin by bus. One small drawback: you have to choose rooms facing the park, not the highway.

A hotel in a characterful building means creaky stairs and windows that aren't very soundproof. We were on the park side, so it was fine. We had a hot water problem, and the hostess didn't understand, so we gave up. In short, the proximity to a bus stop suited us perfectly, which was what mattered to us. A hearty and good breakfast.

All was very nice in the room. Beds were very comfortable and very neat and clean. The bathroom was also very clean, but I wasn’t impressed with the shower, it was a wee shower. I’m not a big man but it was on the wee side. The breakfast was very good, the coffee was the best!! We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Lucan Spa Hotel in July 2025 and highly recommend it as a wedding venue. The Boyne Suite is, in our opinion, a 5 star private self-contained venue with lots of parking and quite simply a hidden gem. It is a venue that can cater for small or large groups, young, old and disabled Alison is the most extraordinary wedding co-ordinator. Our thanks to her for all her help in the months leading up to our wedding day, and on the day itself - she was truly amazing. Alison is very friendly, organised, proactive and nothing is too much trouble. As a result everything ran smoothly and like clockwork on the day. Any request we had, any question we needed answered and any help at all that we needed was no problem. The staff at the Lucan Spa Hotel went above and beyond to make our day extra special. Alison, Ulick and the entire staff made us feel valued from our initial enquiry right up to the moment we left. Each and every one of the staff at the hotel were so helpful and friendly at our menu tasting, run up to the wedding and on the day. Alison stayed in The Boyne Suite until after the meal, and even then wanted to know if there was anything else she could to before she left. She was simply brilliant. The level of coordination and execution by the entire Lucan Spa Hotel team was unrivalled by any event or wedding we have been at before. From the kitchen staff to the Operations staff, our guests praised the hospitality and attentiveness of everyone they interacted with, as well as the positive energy each member of staff brought to the day - with smiles throughout. All our guests were very complimentary regarding the Boyne Suite, the staff, the service, the quality of the mini scones, canapes, wedding meal and evening food. The lighting including three beautiful chandeliers, chair covers, centre pieces, personalised menus, personalised seating plans, table names and décor was exquisite We were fortunate to have lovely weather and it was possible to have the doors open to enjoy the balcony and outdoor areas. The suppliers recommended by Alison and used by us (Jackie’s Florists, Creative Cakes, Dublin Formal Wear and Wiseguys Band) were top class. We would highly recommend The Lucan Spa Hotel to anyone planning a wedding, party or other event. We will remember our wedding day and cherish every second for a lifetime. Wow honestly wasn't expecting much. We are staying at the Hotel visiting Ireland for the first time from San Diego California. We started the day at Cliffs Of Moher it rained on us before we hit Bunratty castle which was meh at best castle and grounds very underwhelming imo. Well anyway because of the rain we didn't stop to eat in Doolin as I planned . This was plan C like I said I wasn't expecting a great meal at a reasonable price. We ate at the bar same menu as restaurant. Well let me tell you everything was excellent my babes ordered the beef stir fry , generous portions of tended beef and noodles my kiddo loved it! My mom got the bacon burger and it was awesome as well something about the beef here some of the best tasting burgers I've had ever! I got the Philly cheese steak. I was expecting to be disappointed but man this thing was awesome and the gravy that came with it oh my f'n delicious! I'd say that's the best beef gravy I've ever had and I wanted to dive in it and do the backstroke! All this for a reasonable price of less than $70 and that was with my Guiness! I can't recommend this spot enough probably the best meal we've had on the island .

My daughter and I spent one night at the hotel and although it is old style there was a friendly atmosphere beds were so comfortable and even with city noise we had a great sleep.dinner was lovely big portions and reasonably priced and it is a very convenient location would definitely recommend

The only real downside is that they don't have air conditioning, which normally wouldn't be a problem, but with the hotter weather, it quickly becomes one.
