A visit to Sligo isn’t complete without experiencing the charm of this beautiful old-world bar and restaurant. The walls are adorned with memorabilia … particularly of Yeats and associated literary figures. The menu is both eclectic and well-priced. Not to be missed.

An average experience in what presents itself as one of Sligo's historic pubs. The atmosphere is quaint but dimly lit, the noise is excessive, and reservations are recommended. The service is discreet (perhaps too much so). The dishes are traditional but neither excellent nor laudable. The beers are excellent.

They had run out of oysters and mussels, but it was the evening of August 15th. That's the only reason I'm not giving the establishment a 5. Given the subsequent dinner in Sligo at Hooked (sad and poor), the 4 stars for both the Guinness stew and the baked salmon are well deserved.

The food was delicious! The service was also very commendable and they were willing to make accommodations to the menu (within reason!) with no bother at all! Pro tip... try their brown (wheaten) bread! You won't be disappointed!

This is a wonderful pub that we happened to run across. The food was great. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was what you would expect of a pub mid afternoon. It was a lovely place and I’d highly recommend.

18/11/2025: We went to Flipside in Sligo and had a great experience. The burgers were fresh, crispy and full of flavour, and it was clear that they use high quality ingredients. The menu has a nice selection, and it was easy to find something we liked. The fries were crispy and everything came out hot. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that makes for an enjoyable meal. Overall, a great place if you want tasty burgers and good service in Sligo.

23/10/2025: The best pub in Sligo! Very friendly people, live music, and delicious cider.
05/09/2025: I spent an exceptional evening at McLaughlin's Bar - the people, music (trad session), drinks and the venue itself were just amazing! I'll never forget it. 100% recommended! If you're in Sligo it's a MUST. It felt so authentic and I was stunned by the Irish hospitality. Thanks so much to everyone, especially to Myriam :)
