Warm and food well priced, had lunch food was good. Only bad thing need to be more generous on the roast potatoes only had one on my plate.

My friend & I went to this cafe. It was very spacious. Coffee and treats to the front with savoury foods to the back of the cafe. Plenty of space to manoeuvre Lots of tables and chairs. Service was good. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for service only for something tiny and that was my friend was heavily pregnant and she insisted on paying and they didn't take her payment straight away or give us a tray to carry the coffees and treats down to our table. Just maybe read the room and offer to deliver the goods especially when the cafe was so quiet.

Strange system. Need to queue to order breakfast, and pay. Then told to queue up again at the opposite end of the restaurant a second time to oder my coffee. This is ridiculous, the girl working at tea coffees was very busy. I attempted 3 times to queue gave up as my food had arrived to the table and I am still queueing for coffee. Eggs were poached very under cooked as in near raw yolk, and cold. Potatoes fried and mushrooms were lovely. I managed to get the coffee girls attention and received a very nice coffee. This queuing process is not good at all.

07/11/2025: Tried out The Wandering Elk today and it was absolutely amazing 🫎☺️. I had a toasted sandwich with bacon and chicken that was bursting with flavour 😋. It came with a generous serving of nachos and dip on the side which was such a lovely surprise 🌮. The coffee was rich, smooth and perfect for the cool day ☕. The cookie was out of this world, soft and buttery with a gorgeous white chocolate drizzle 🍪🤍. The 2 lady staff members were so friendly and everything came out fresh, hot and full of flavour 😊. Overall The Wandering Elk is a fantastic spot for lunch or coffee and I’ll definitely be back soon ❤️.
