Lovely cafe with good coffee and hot chocolate. Tried one dessert, a chocolate cake with cream, and it was yum. There is also a chocolate store beside the cafe, where they make their own chocolate.

A lovely, tastefully decorated location in the Burren, beautifully situated. Delicious, beautifully presented cakes, though quite expensive. The coffee and hot chocolate were excellent. We found the chocolate sampler to be very good indeed. Disappointingly, my question during the presentation was ignored, with the explanation that I should book a guided tour. That would have been more customer-friendly. The showrooms are very professionally designed, with some interesting details about the Burren. Personally, I found it a bit too marketing- and sales-oriented. Overall, I would have liked more information about the product, as advertised on the website.

We stopped here while on a bike ride in July 2025 (rented e-bikes from Burren E-bike Adventures.) The cafe was lovely and the chocolate was delicious! There was only so much we could take with us on the bike, but luckily they will ship it to you! It was nice to get a package from Ireland (to the USA) about a week after being home from vacation. Go to the cafe to enjoy something now, and bring home chocolate to enjoy later!

Beautiful shop with lovely products displayed. You can see the workshops through windows. We sampled two chocolates. But quality comes at a price... €8.95 for a 70g bar and €2.50 for a single chocolate.

Beautiful cafe. Recommend the classic hot chocolate. The factory is small, you will see it in 10mins max. The smell of chocolate is beautiful.

I’m still dreaming about the chocolate we got here. Stopping in was pure happenstance as we’d seen the signs and ended up traveling right to on the way to our next destination. Very glad we stopped. The salesperson was really friendly and made sure to tell us all about the sourcing and the differences in flavor we might experience across the selection. We ended up taking home a chocolate bar that I wish I’d gotten more of!

Interesting but pricey. We had 2 tasty hot chocolates and 2 tiny pieces of cake for €24.

Let me start by saying chocolate !! Incredible and delicious chocolate. Hazel Mountain knows exactly what they’re doing. We have tried chocolate all over the world. Their blends and their darks are like nothing you’ve ever tasted before. Can try all the chocolates before even buying them. And you will buy them. This is a location you don’t wanna miss. Sit on beautiful land and a beautiful building run by beautiful people.

Morrison's Bar

12/07/2026: Excellent Chicken curry and a fine pint of Guinness
08/07/2026: Good place as a stopover on the way from Cork to Galway. Friendly staff and tasty food. Meals are on the large side for lunch, but that is typically Irish.

The Grain Store at Killruddery

12/07/2026: My husband and I were looking for somewhere to have lunch on our way to the beach. Having browsed some menus in the area online, I eventually discovered the Grainstore and am very grateful I did. My husband has not stopped talking about the slow cooked beef short rib and basque cheesecake, and my gazpacho was so full of flavour. All meals are served with a side their own grown leaves and herbs, which is a lovely and unique touch. As a vegan, it can be difficult to find anywhere serving interesting plant based options without going into central Dublin, but they even accommodated me for dessert with a chocolate cake and sorbet. The coffee was also great. The location is fabulous and reminds me of being back in my childhood county in England. Can’t wait to explore the rest of the estate. We’re very lucky to live nearby and will be recommending to friends and family!
11/07/2026: We found this place "by accident". Its located on an old castle ground and they also have a little shop, cafe and Pizza place. I had the slow cooked beef and I must say for 26€ I was absolutely blown away. I had no expectations coming here but I was very impressed. The food quality is top notch and the kitchen definetly knows what they are doing! For desert I had the basque cheesecake which comes with an incredible elderflower sorbet. I will be coming back here 100%. One of the best values for money you can get in my opinion.
