04/05/2026: Very tasty food, good size portions in reasonable price. Nice selection of menu and specials of the day. Helpful and friendly staff. We've been here couple times. Over the weekend is busy, so recommend reservation (but it's not necessary). Possible to park on the street parking.

27/11/2025: This is a big cold, but they have the best sausage roll in all of Ireland. No greasy, or cheap sausage meat…full of rich flavour and delicious flaky pastry. The Portuguese Pastel de Nata, straight out of the oven was better than any I have had in Portugal…well at least as good as! Great coffee as well! Friendly people!

10/05/2026: Fantastic food, I had the seafood chowder and my wife had the wagyu beef burger. Both of us agreed it was the best we have had. Service was friendly but slow - I got the feeling they needed one or two more people. They seemed pretty stressed and it took a long time to get the bill after our table was cleared (30ish minutes). Love the old bar feel - you can tell this place has been open and well-loved a long time. Live music was great.

01/05/2026: We visited Henry's Bistro the first night of our arrival in Ennis. We listened to some early hours trad music then decided to have dinner. Henry's is highly rated, so we decided to see if we could get in without a reservation on this rainy Thursday. Fortunately, we did. Now, I could carry on about the excellent seafood chowder, wonderful bread or scrumptious apple tart, but my husband and I both delighted in the feather blade beef braised in red wine. This isn't a cut we see in California, and although Google will tell you it is flank steak--it is not. This lovely piece of grass-fed and finished local Hereford is from the upper shoulder and it was amazing. The portions were really generous. We had the fixed price menu with a bottle of wine from a curated wine list. If you're in Ennis and looking for something that's maybe not traditional Irish food but truly exceptional locally raised food, this is the place you want to go.

21/03/2026: The best pub in this little town. Atmosphere and live music was great and the workers/owner are all so lovely and welcoming, they also do good cocktails which pleasantly surprised us as its got such a traditional Irish pub feel.

06/05/2026: Had a wonderful dinner with family, the food was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked halibut, scallops and fish. Service was excellent, and we underestimated the restaurant!

30/04/2026: We went to the restaurant. The food and prices were average, but the service was unfortunately rude. Maybe we just had a bad experience.

17/05/2026: Our tour bus stopped here for lunch, food was very good and came quickly as we only had 40 mins for lunch, they had a good system down and we had plenty of time to enjoy the food and a pint. Food was very affordable compared to similar pubs

04/05/2026: Had such a lovely time at The Monk’s Well yesterday for day two of my friend’s wedding. Geraldine was lovely & a great host to us and ensured for a great evening. The atmosphere was brilliant—really relaxed and full of good vibes. The Barn area was the perfect spot to host us & give us the space to continue the celebrations! The evening food platters & freshly baked pizzas were absolutely delicious, and the staff & service were amazing! We wanted for nothing! Would definitely recommend as a venue for a great get-together! Will Definitely be back for future occasions. Many many thanks!
