Traditional Irish Night-Cornbarn at Bunratty Folk Park
Bunratty
24/05/2026: A very good experience; the restoration of the castle allows us to see medieval life, and the village, life in the 19th century.
24/05/2026: Lots of fun for the whole family.

The Wild Atlantic Lodge
Ballyvaughan
08/05/2026: Our walking group stayed for 4 nights at the Wild Atlantic Lodge and we were so impressed. Shauna and all the staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Rooms very comfortable. Freshly cooked breakfast made to order each morning. We enjoyed excellent dinner menu on 2 evenings in the restaurant. A real gem.
30/04/2026: A must visit! We came here 25 years ago for our honeymoon and the nostalgia was real coming back. Shauna and team have outdone themselves, from the interior remodel of the hotel, preservation of the pub atmosphere, and revamping of the upscale menu - it is the premier place to stop when in Ballyvaughan! Don’t miss out on the sticky toffee pudding - you’ll regret not ordering it.

The Riverside Bistro
24/05/2026: Excellent restaurant in Doolin. Love various pub restaurants in Ireland, but this spot was a welcome reprieve from normal pub fare. Enjoyed caprese salad, seafood pasta, and abundant wine choices - all were tastefully prepared and presented. Highly recommend!
21/05/2026: The food was absolutely delicious, the lamb leg was very tender, and my partner's ribs were also very tasty.

Diamond Rocks Cafe
Kilkee
26/11/2025: I had the breakfast bap here. Was fantastic, as was the coffee and service. A real gem of a place, and clearly very well run.
We arrived at Kilkee in very unfortunate circumstances, and were afforded a private space by the owners, who supported us during an incredibly difficult time.
Kindness knows no bounds, and we are forever grateful for the support they showed us.
19/11/2025: I can’t recommend this place enough, looking great food and an even better view ? Diamond rocks is the place for you. Why pay for the cliffs of Moher when you can enjoy the diamond rocks sipping a freshly squeezed orange juice from the comfort of this stunning cafe.

O'Loclainn's Irish Whiskey Bar
Ballyvaughan
27/05/2026: There's no food here...but a huge selection of whiskey.
The landlady had some time for us, and we learned something about every whiskey we tried.
She really has a wealth of knowledge about everything she has to offer.
The atmosphere is so quaint and cozy, exactly what you'd imagine a pub to be.
I highly recommend taking some time out and stopping by.
25/05/2026: Margie made sure everyone was well tended and smiles for all, single handled. What a great place. Don't miss out and don't worry if it's crowded, you'll be taken care of with a smile and embraced like you belong there, cause you do.

Tubridy's
Doonbeg
07/05/2026: We were self catering about 6km from this restaurant and treated ourselves one of our final nights. We had had a filling chowder in Lehinch earlier in the day and an ice cream to follow so ordered main courses only. Staff were welcoming and friendly despite no reservation: a true Clare welcome to my Mum in her late 70s, myself and my two children aged 5 and 7 respectively. There was a kids menu and my children ordered the homemade burgers which were definitely homemade and fab. There were no prices on the kids menu and as driver of our trip, I was treated as were the kids to our meal so I'm not sure of the price of the kids burgers. For mains, my Mum and I had the Hake dish at €26 each. Intermittently, my Mum muttered 'I'm in heaven' and 'wow' whilst eating hers. It was delicious: a rich, filling, cooked perfectly but fancy dish which we both thoroughly savoured. We had water, Miwadi and a glass of milk to wash it down. Worth the price. Definitely recommended if staying locally or passing by. Hats off to the Polish chef.
05/05/2026: We got a lovely fish chips last Sunday, everything was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.

12/04/2026: I work next to this pub. There's nothing better than leaving work tired and relaxing with a few pints of Guinness, Smitchwick, Carlsberg... and other types of beer.

Oar Restaurant
02/05/2026: Tucked into the wild poetry of Ireland’s west coast, this Michelin-starred gem in Doolin delivered a dining experience that felt less like a meal and more like a beautifully choreographed love story.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere hummed with quiet elegance, the kind that doesn’t need to announce itself. Then came the venison, and truly, it deserves its own standing ovation. Presented with theatrical grace, it stood poised like a bride beneath a chuppah, a culinary ceremony in full swing. Each bite was rich, tender, and deeply expressive of the land, as though the surrounding hills had whispered their secrets directly into the dish. The asparagus risotto followed, glowing with freshness. It arrived adorned with a delicate bouquet of edible flowers, like spring had decided to dress up for dinner. The flavors were vibrant yet comforting, a perfect balance of earthiness and brightness, each forkful unfolding like a small celebration.
Service throughout the evening was flawless. Not stiff or overly formal, but warm, intuitive, and genuinely joyful. The kind of service that anticipates your needs before you even realize them yourself. And then, just when we thought the evening had reached its peak, it offered us one more unforgettable moment. When we asked about arranging a taxi, the owner himself came over, introduced himself with effortless charm, and insisted on driving us. Not just anywhere, but to catch the Irish sunset melting into the Atlantic beside the Cliffs of Moher. It felt like being handed the final, perfect note of a symphony. Some restaurants serve great food. This one creates memories that linger long after the plates are cleared.
02/05/2026: Fabulous Michelin star restaurant, personnel is amazing food is fantastic and the place, being so tiny makes it very cozy, winter or summer the view is amazing!

Gus O'Connor's
16/04/2026: My favorite part of traveling is meeting local people. I had a great first impression of O'Connor's when I walked up to order drinks. John was the bartender he was so friendly, he asked where I was from and what my name was, we had a great conversation! That's what I will remember about O'Connor's Pub! I love a friendly bartender!
15/04/2026: We stopped at this pub while waiting for the boat to go explore the Cliffs of Moher and were completely won over by the atmosphere, the owners, and the delicious meal!
A superb place!

The Edge
Lahinch
01/10/2025: We were on holiday passing through Lahinch and selected The Edge for an early dinner at the recommendation of the owner of (or a worker in) Sue’s Lahinch Limited clothing store. It was an excellent dining experience, from the service, atmosphere, cleanliness and timing. But what’s most memorable for me and my husband was the SEAFOOD CHOWDER!! It is quite literally the best soup I’ve ever had in a restaurant! I am certain, the next time we visit Ireland we’ll plan a few days in Lahinch for sole purpose of enjoying the seafood chowder, oh and dining experience too! Kudos to the chef and the creator of the recipe. Know that I will be craving your soup from Ohio, likely for the rest of my life 😍. Well Done!!
01/10/2025: The food is outstanding. The service is superb. The atmosphere is arguably the best part. The dimmed lights and music are perfect. I’m so glad we found this dinner spot!

Keanes Oyster Bar
18/05/2026: There are places where they serve food, and then there are places that make you feel as if you’ve just stepped into another time entirely. Keane’s is one of them. From the moment you walk in, with the old wood, the vintage stove, and the fireplace on, you feel wrapped in the warmth of a true Irish atmosphere… so authentic, soulful and comforting. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home.
The people who run it are wonderful: cheerful, genuine, discreet and yet incredibly welcoming. Their hospitality made of smiles and kind words feels natural and effortless, which makes the entire experience even more special. You truly feel looked after.
And then there is the food. Oh wow! One word defines it perfectly: harmony. The oysters with garlic butter were divine, the garlic bread absolutely to die for and the fish dishes were cooked masterfully. The pan-seared salmon for instance was flawless, and the John Dory with citrus butter was delicate, elegant, and full of balance. Even the vegetables here deserve praise: crisp, tasty, and among the very few in Ireland that feel almost as good and delectable as the mains themselves.
Everything is beautifully balanced: the seasoning, the herbs, the portions. Nothing overwhelms, nothing is excessive. Every element works together with care and intelligence.
The fish is fresh. The staples are genuine.
And finally, the desserts: the warm apple crumble with cream and the sherry trifle, both comforting and not too sweet, allowing the flavours to truly come up.
This is one of those rare places that stays with you after you leave… the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again.
03/02/2026: Lovely old bar with great food and friendly staff. Great motohome parking with EHU and water. Well recommended.
