Byrnes Restaurant
Ennistymon
17/05/2026: A lovely little restaurant with excellent service.
Delicious, high-quality food.
The duck and monkfish are especially recommended.
15/05/2026: We had dinner at this wonderful place! First of all, congratulations for the kindness and friendliness of all the staff (especially the waitress, who spoke Italian and "pampered" us throughout the evening, even giving me a gift of a whiskey I really enjoyed), and above all, congratulations for the excellent cuisine: exceptional dishes, the fish soup was FABULOUS! A great discovery: highly recommended!!
Thanks again to the staff and the waitress!!
Congratulations

Oh La La
Ennistymon
01/06/2026: Pancakes are a bit different than in Poland, but just as good.
07/05/2026: We stopped here during our tour of Ireland and absolutely loved it. The crêpes were delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The café itself has such a charming, cozy atmosphere and was one of the cutest stops we made in Co. Clare. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and wonderful hospitality.

Falls Hotel & Spa
Ennistymon
17/06/2026: Only called in for a meal but what an impact when you head toward the main door & inside took my breath away! The reception staff were very warm& attentive as were bar staff. The food was excellent but the whiskey liquor coffee was one of best i have had and i,m very fussy about how its made& presented! 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
08/06/2026: Stayed at this beautiful hotel for three nights while on a tour that included County Clare and the west coast, and I felt welcome right from the start. The reception staff were very kind and helpful throughout our stay, promptly sorting out a hitch on our arrival when my suitcase was left outside the wrong room, and mailing all my postcards on the day we left. Could not believe how big and spacious my room was! I had a choice between a double bed or a generous single one. The room was clean, quiet and warm, with ample wardrobe space and all the usual amenities. The only negative for me was that the table and writing desk were too high for the chairs, rather a problem if you're not very tall! The bathroom had a lovely spacious walk-in shower, handmade toiletries (beautiful fragrance!), and extra towels. Dinner was in a large restaurant on the lower ground floor. Courteous and charming waiters, and professional service. The wine was quite pricey, but we were offered free drinks on the first evening. The dinners were well prepared, plenty of variety with creative ingredients, though I noticed no vegetarian options for the main courses. I especially loved the delicious beef and Guinness casserole, and the locally sourced lamb. Gorgeous desserts too. The hearty breakfasts really set me up for the day. As well as the usual cereals and cooked breakfast, there was a nice cold buffet with cheese, hard-boiled egg, cold meats and mackerel. There's an immaculate little garden with outside tables and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. A flight of steps leads from here down to the River Inagh and the waterfalls, and the picturesque village of Ennistymon is only a 5 minute walk away. There was music and dancing in the bar on all three nights we were here, including traditional Irish entertainment on our last night. I certainly enjoyed the time I spent here and would stay here again.

Pot Duggans
Ennistymon
01/06/2026: We stopped by for dinner, unfortunately the menu only offered pizzas. The pizza was baked in a real oven, the dough was very light and airy. It could have been delicious, but unfortunately most of the bottom of my pizza was burned to charcoal. The worst part was that I found an inappropriate 5 cm chicken bone in my last slice of pizza. :(
31/05/2026: Excellent venue for private function food Excellent and staff amazing

The Cheese Press
Ennistymon
14/06/2026: Great Pace, Fab Food & Great Staff, highly recommend a visit!
31/05/2026: Under new ownership from 2026. No longer selling a variety of items, but they do have locally produced grocery.
Delicious sandwiches and salads featuring locally farmed veg (organic). I love the pickle and cheese sandwich so much! Takeaway sandwich on focaccia is €8.50.
They charge you extra to eat in, which I find odd and unfriendly. Sometimes the counter person seems to be on another planet.
EDIT - thanks, I didn’t know that about VAT!

Grovemount House
Ennistymon
24/09/2024: We had a great stay at Grovemount House. Our room was large and spacious with incredible views of the sunset. We loved hearing the cows in the pasture in the evening. It is close to lots of attractions and the towns of Ennistimon and Lehinch for shopping and restaurants. The hosts were the nicest people we have ever met. We highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.
08/08/2024: A disappointment. The place wouldn't look bad from the outside, but unfortunately, everything inside is very dated, from the rooms to the bathrooms to the furnishings, and not even breakfast. Definitely overpriced. The property is now up for sale.

Dylan Thomas Bar
Ennistymon
13/08/2025: Last dined here 2014 after poor dining experience, spend half the year in Clare, love Ennistymon so thought give it another go. Wishing we hadn't, roast beef, arrived on mash and looked good, sides were more mash and a bit of a carrot, slice of turnip and green beans all soggy, asked about roast potatoes and they brought me some that must have been left in the oven and were rock hard. Husband had pan fried chicken , same sides as myself. Pleasant young staff, no checking about food, place lovely. How hard is it to present this food with fresh veg and potatoes. Shame as we won't be back and would advise others too avoid
