Cooley's House in Ennistymon

Visited with my dad in '06. We where on a guided tour and I vividly remember the painting on the wall in the pub and the good times we had. Took a picture of the painting and the people on the guided tour. Revisted 2 years ago on our honeymoon. Still the painting was there. My dad died several years prior to our marriage and honymoon and I showed the owners a picture of us there back in '06. Had a lovely time there with my wife as well. And a couple of pints of Guiness. Asked for a wee dram of Redspot, the owner asked if I was sure ('cause it's a bit steep) which I was. He poured a dram, looked me in the eyes, said, "for good old times sakes lad" and filled the glass quite a lot more than usual. A toast for my dad so to speak. Which was and still is something I will never forget and am gratefull for to this very day. I know it's been a while but thank you. This meant and means so much to me still. A real local little pub with music around 10pm. I loved it. If you want to listen to music, get there early because you won't get a seat.

Lively irish pub that I wish I Could return to

popped in here the other day.Have to say its a great pub.The pint was top class.The lady who owns the pub was very friendly.Full of chat and really lovely to talk to.I couldn’t recommend it enough.I had a pint of Guinness which was €5.80…my wife had a cup of tea which we were not charged for.All in all,if staying in the town or even just passing through Id highly recommend it.
