06/07/2026: We went there because it had such good reviews. The service was good. We arrived and a table was prepared for six of us very quickly. The room seemed cozy at first glance, but it was actually quite cluttered. Unfortunately, there was mold on the walls.
The pizza was okay... the crust was very thin. The Margherita was very bland. Unfortunately, both the glasses and the sharing plates weren't clean. That was really unacceptable.
We won't be coming back.
06/07/2026: We can only partially understand the many positive reviews. The food was generally okay, but rather expensive for what was offered. The coffee, however, was good.
The service seemed a bit overwhelmed at times. What particularly struck us as negative, though, were the dirty plates and glasses – that's a complete no-go for us. In addition, there was mold on the walls and the premises generally looked unkempt and somewhat shabby.
Overall, we unfortunately couldn't share the positive impression expressed by many other reviews.

05/04/2026: No wheat breakfast; delicious & fresh. So many options for gluten free it was hard to choose. Cosy cafe which was very welcoming, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

02/11/2025: Nice cheap stay with friends. Rooms are very decent size but do need upgrading, however are clean and comfortable. Staff are perhaps a little inexperienced but all very pleasant to deal with. Dining area was spacious and food was very good - great portions for dinner and breakfast was really delicious.

The staff were super warm and welcoming, and the whole place had a relaxed, comfortable vibe that made the meal even better. Everything felt cared for, from the service to the dishes themselves. I left genuinely happy with the experience and would definitely go back for sure. 🙃🙂
05/07/2026: On the banks of the Shannon, RiverSpice is an absolute must. I went with my girlfriend, and it's a genuine fine dining experience, perfect for grabbing a romantic dinner and taking a walk down to the river during the summer months. Must-see sights paired with must-have food. Portions are also truly generous, ideal for large families too.
What impressed me most is that this feels like a real step up from the usual Indian takeaway, the plating, and the attention to detail all say "fine dining," even in a small Clare town. Naan was fresh and blistered, rice was fluffy, and the staff were warm and clearly proud of what they're serving.
Clare isn't short on charm, but it's been missing a restaurant like this, one that treats Pakistani and Indian cuisine as something to be savoured, not just delivered in a bag. Can't recommend RiverSpice enough. Already planning my next visit.

22/03/2025: The Super Value grocery store is the main anchor. This one is smaller than others but they had most things I needed, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. There's also a pharmacy, cafe, and salon. The car park is small to service the grouping stores.

There's an outdoor area where smoking is allowed.
You pay at the counter, not at your table. It's very convenient.
The atmosphere is pleasant.
We felt very comfortable.
