The best restaurants in Clare

16/08/2025: We called at 11:35 that we would arrive by 12 and asked if we could still get breakfast then, as they serve breakfast until 12. They promised they would „keep an eye out for us“. So we skipped the breakfast option in the little town where we were. Then when we arrived at the till at 12:07 (we didn’t realise how long it takes to park in their tiny, overflowing parking spaces) they refused to serve us. Is that Irish hospitality?

13/08/2025: One of the best locations on the west coast of Ireland. The food is superb n reasonably priced. This is a family run restaurant & now hosts wedding days. Post prandial go for a swim in one of the pollock holes ,- when the tide is ebbing or low.

20/09/2025: GET THE CHOWDER!!! I am from New England and this is the best chowder I ever had. The bread it comes with is amazing as well. That with a pint, what more could you want in life?

09/09/2025: We loved all of Ireland but staying with Marion, Frank and Bertie at Sheedys was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Their attention to detail, helpful advice, WONDERFUL food and warm hospitality left us only wanting one for one thing: MORE TIME! We will definitely make more time next trip!

03/09/2025: I had my going away party at the monks well and it was amazing. The atmosphere, the music was top notch. Would highly recommend having any sort of an event at the monks well.

02/09/2025: 35 of us visited here for a work outing. Had BBQ burgers, chips and salads. Excellent atmosphere and live music plus very attentive management.

06/09/2025: Fantastic pizzeria in mount shannon with great service and very friendly staff. They have a great wine and beer selection too (first menu I’ve ever seen that starts with the wine!).

20/09/2025: Absolutely incredible meal, the portions were enormous as well. The staff were so friendly and kind. The whole place had a homey feel, the fireplace was top notch!

19/09/2025: Stumbled in because a recommended bar was packed full, best mistake ever! Staff was amazing, so friendly and kind, and the food was AMAZING! My dad and I both got the mussels as a starter and fish and chips for main and it was incredible, so flaky and a huge portion! Beer and cider selection was awesome too :)

05/10/2025: terrible, terrible, terrible!!!!! We waited 60 minutes for Turkish eggs. After the customers who came later at the next table got hamburgers, we left without eating.

05/10/2025: The waiter was very slow. We ordered coffee, 10 minutes later he came back saying he forgot what kind of coffee we wanted. He told us our food would take 20 minutes to prepare. It took an hour! He didn't even apologize. I don't recommend.

14/10/2025: Had food tonight and it was lovely came out for my birthday because one September were playing, myself and my partner were drinking coors light had 3 pints ordered the 4th pint for us got 2 flat pints called back the bar man and asked him to replace them as they were dead seen him put a head on them so called him back again to replace them to see him do the same thing again ,so called another bar man and told him the 2 pints of coors where dead no gas in then to see him do the very same thing as his colleague before him do ,so asked him why did he put a head on a dead pint his answer was why are you getting smart with me ,I asked him to give me 2 pints of Heineken instead and all i got back was abuse ,never will i eat of drink there again bad bar staff that haven't a clue about pulling a pint so rude when confronted spoiled my night and my birthday.

14/10/2025: The dwelling is amazing, along with live music. As a patron, you're greeted,served, then forgotten. 1 and done for me.

01/10/2025: What a wee gem! Fabulous Irish breakfast, (and the rest) with friendly staff, that you just know when you see them are going to deliver real home cooking like mother used to make. And then there is their bakery! Wow! This is worthy of travelling to. Amazing range of luxurious super sized home made treats that makes it very difficult to pick just one favourite. Definitely heading back here every year now on trips to Clare. Well done ladies fabulous to see a business that have 110% nailed what they do!

01/10/2025: Please stop here as part of a tour group from my cruise. These food was wonderful comma the landlord took us around and told the history of the pub which was fascinating. They're also is a new Museum about the Irish famine back at the 1840s. Really gave an insightful and impactful look at the effect on the local people and the Irish population. I highly recommend visiting.

27/09/2025: Absolutely wonderful people, wonderful music, wonderful atmosphere. Made us feel like long time friends even though it was our first visit. Will be sure to come back.
