17/06/2026: Only called in for a meal but what an impact when you head toward the main door & inside took my breath away! The reception staff were very warm& attentive as were bar staff.The food was excellent but the whiskey liquor coffee was one of best i have had and i,m very fussy about how its made& presented! 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

08/06/2026: Stayed at this beautiful hotel for three nights while on a tour that included County Clare and the west coast, and I felt welcome right from the start. The reception staff were very kind and helpful throughout our stay, promptly sorting out a hitch on our arrival when my suitcase was left outside the wrong room, and mailing all my postcards on the day we left. Could not believe how big and spacious my room was! I had a choice between a double bed or a generous single one. The room was clean, quiet and warm, with ample wardrobe space and all the usual amenities. The only negative for me was that the table and writing desk were too high for the chairs, rather a problem if you're not very tall! The bathroom had a lovely spacious walk-in shower, handmade toiletries (beautiful fragrance!), and extra towels. Dinner was in a large restaurant on the lower ground floor. Courteous and charming waiters, and professional service. The wine was quite pricey, but we were offered free drinks on the first evening. The dinners were well prepared, plenty of variety with creative ingredients, though I noticed no vegetarian options for the main courses. I especially loved the delicious beef and Guinness casserole, and the locally sourced lamb. Gorgeous desserts too. The hearty breakfasts really set me up for the day. As well as the usual cereals and cooked breakfast, there was a nice cold buffet with cheese, hard-boiled egg, cold meats and mackerel. There's an immaculate little garden with outside tables and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. A flight of steps leads from here down to the River Inagh and the waterfalls, and the picturesque village of Ennistymon is only a 5 minute walk away. There was music and dancing in the bar on all three nights we were here, including traditional Irish entertainment on our last night. I certainly enjoyed the time I spent here and would stay here again.

26/07/2026: Delicious chocolate but way overpriced.

25/07/2026: A lovely, tastefully decorated location in the Burren, beautifully situated. Delicious, beautifully presented cakes, though quite expensive. The coffee and hot chocolate were excellent. We found the chocolate sampler to be very good indeed. Disappointingly, my question during the presentation was ignored, with the explanation that I should book a guided tour. That would have been more customer-friendly. The showrooms are very professionally designed, with some interesting details about the Burren. Personally, I found it a bit too marketing- and sales-oriented. Overall, I would have liked more information about the product, as advertised on the website.

08/07/2026: Friendly helpful receptionist, house was ready early before ceremony which was handy. Lovely different venue, food was great, lots of wine, great atmosphere. Fitzys bar for breakfast was lovely and reasonably priced. Friendly staff here too. The only negative was that young bar staff members (in 20s) the night of the wedding were unfriendly, indifferent, sour faces on them. Didn't say a word when went to the bar and ordered, they put the drinks on the bar and stuck out the card machine at an angle had to lean over to see how much the drinks were. Given how extortionate the drink prices were this was sour taste in my mouth given how nice the venue and dinner staff were earlier in the night. Self catering houses - comfortable beds, balcony, nice shower. Brown bread wad nice touch. Would definitely visit again.

14/06/2026: Attended the doolin folk festival. I have to just stumble upon this festival while I was in town it was fun the entry was expensive 75 and still had to buy your beer. It was fun they had a DJ out side and a folk ban in the barn. Plenty of restrooms and awesome vibe.

31/05/2026: Great food in such a lovely spot, friendly staff

31/05/2026: Food was good value but service was terrible, no management present and you could tell. Had to call one of the waitresses to take out dessert order and four of them standing around talking.

28/05/2026: The best Bruschetta Caprese I've ever eaten! The antipasto was also delicious and fresh. Very authentic Italian cuisine. I went back to Passatempo for lunch today. This time I had the Ragu Bolognese and it was simply outstanding.

26/05/2026: I’m Italian, I have been living in Ireland for 3 years so far, traveled everywhere and this it the first authentic 100% excellent Italian food. Feels like home

07/05/2026: We stopped here during our tour of Ireland and absolutely loved it. The crêpes were delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The café itself has such a charming, cozy atmosphere and was one of the cutest stops we made in Co. Clare. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and wonderful hospitality.

21/06/2026: The food is very good, The service is perfect and masterful and the setting lovely too! Anything the blond and my fussy brats wanted was no trouble and for the first time, my kids talked about the food on our table, (we all sampled each others) rather than burying their heads in their phones as usual!

15/05/2026: I believe that a great meal revolves around the people you are with, the service provided by the staff, and finally the food. In this case all three came together. The salmon starter was hot and well prepared. My rack of lamb was tender with a nice au jus. The service was just right, there when needed and allowing us to enjoy our meal. Not an everyday meal or inexpensive but really well done and if I am back in this area I will do it again.

05/06/2026: A very nice little hotel. The owner is very accommodating and helpful in planning activities for the day. The ambiance is reminiscent of a manor house, complete with a fireplace and wingback chairs in the lobby. Overall, it's very lovingly furnished with great attention to detail. There's a nice pub with local live music a short walk away and a few dining options in town.

25/05/2026: Booked a Burren walking tour with Martina this May to see the wild flowers and had a fantastic weekend trip - one of the most enjoyable in many years! The hotel is immaculate and comfortable and Martina is the perfect host - genuinely friendly and everything perfectly organised. However the highlight for us has to be the food - dinner on the evening we arrived was the best we have eaten in a long time and the breakfasts keep us going all day! Martina even had a lovely packed lunch ready for us to take on our walk. Our walk was with Shane Connolly who not only has amazing depth of knowledge of everything about the Burren and it's history and nature but was also great fun along the way. Can't recommend this experience and Sheedy's as a base highly enough - genuine five stars all the way!

01/07/2026: Hands down, the best meal in Lahinch! Excellent food, most welcoming service, extra style points for skilful deboning of the sole table-side. Must visit when in Lahinch if you are a bit of a foodie!

22/06/2026: I travel to Lahinch for two weeks every year and find VL Restaurant consistently my favorite in the area for both food and service. The dishes are all excellently prepared with quality ingredients and great flavors. On a recent visit started with a crab claw appetizer special followed by the duck and a tasty dessert of the day. My friend also had the rump of lamb which he loved. They have a nice, reasonably priced wine list and a complete bar. Recommend going early and having a drink in the lounge before dinner.

10/04/2026: We ended up taking a detour through Clare Hills in Ennis due to the ongoing fuel protests in Ireland (tractor and haulier convoys on motorways) after getting stuck in traffic, but it turned out to be a really lucky find! 😄 We came across Vesuvio Take Away and we’re so glad we did. The food was absolutely outstanding- fresh, full of flavour, and very generous portions. Adriana and Tony were so warm and welcoming, and you can really see the care they put into everything they make. We ordered lamb doner kebab, chicken fillet burger, taco cheese chips, and fresh cod—everything was delicious! Only note: it’s cash only. We were too hungry to even think about taking photos 😂 Such a great experience overall, very happy with them and highly recommend if you’re near Ennis!
