05/04/2026: Just had such a pleasant stay here over easter weekend! The staff was so friendly and helped us to our room as soon as we arrived. The room was clean and calm (4 person female dorm). The pub was super cute and cozy with live music and a fire place and the communal kitchen was also clean and nice to use. Breakfast was also very nice with gluten free and vegan options. The only bummer was that the hostel is located in a super remote area and the restaurant wasn’t open so getting food was a little difficult since we only had bikes. If you had a car though you’d be totally fine and it was beautiful! The rooms also got a little chilly in the morning.

23/03/2026: Fancy a peaceful stay in a historical home with modern amenities? This is the place for you! My brother and I had the pleasure of staying here on our last evening of a week long road trip before heading back to Dublin. From the minute we entered we were met with warmth from both the fireplace and the reception staff. We received a quick tour of the home and not only were we pleased with the second fireplace in the lounge area but were additionally ecstatic at the pub found in the rear of the house with a pool table and spacious outdoor seating area. Our room was gorgeous and beds super comfortable. Finally, the continental breakfast the next morning was a perfect start to our day. The staff here are very personable and keen to help you during your stay, I was very appreciative of their warm welcome to achill island and their food recommendations for the area. Thank you Valley House team for such a wonderful and memorable stay! I hope to return again someday!
