The Castle Coffee House & Eatery in Ennis

Just dropped in on spec, looking for a snack, but tempted by the ambience, and a quick peek at what everyone was eating, into Lunch. Lovely menu, great service, and a pleasant mix of locals and tourists. Excellent food - the best Lemon Meringue Pie ever ! (once you're over 50, 'Best Evers' become rather less frequent !) Two older gentlemen were likewise having a leisurely lunch and were particularly well cared for by a rapidly moving Waitress, who missed nothing. On removing two empty plates which had previously held portions of (probably) The Most Amazing Apple Pie ever, she noted over her shoulder "I see ye didn't like that much either lads (wink) !" Scorts of laughter followed her out. Across the road from a very well appointed and well stocked Antiques Shop, this is a perfect stop off the beaten track if you're on a Clare/Limerick itinerary, with easy parking and what not.

Can get very busy and a bit nosey for anyone with sensory issues but fab place and food such lovely staff.

Good breakfast, nice friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Perfect location just outside Ennis. Plenty parking.

Busy place at lunch time but we went at 11.30 it was lovely the food was tasty and they even do take away dinners. The desserts are a must to.

Had breakfast here full Irish had plenty in it. Fresh made brown bread and their own raspberry jam. Lovely place. Open turf fire. Fresh breads cakes and scones. It's a busy spot so your may have to wait at the weekend.

Had a really nice breakfast with my sisters here last week. Great atmosphere, food was lovely, brown bread was gorgeous. Service was excellent, special thanks to Kelly who looked after us so well. We will definitely be back. Thanks to Anne and her team.

Ordered American pancakes with bacon expected them to be cooked from scratch but what I got was shop bought packet pancakes dry and tasteless. A bit rich i thought , expected to pay €10+ for pancakes that cost no.more than €2 in a shop . Very disappointing and felt it should be stated on the menu . I shan't be back obviously.

Wonderful food and great atmosphere. Superb place to eat. Staff are very friendly.

Lovely place for everything. The food is a standout though. I couldn't recommend it enough.

Love this coffee house. We had Fish and Chips and the Chicken Curry. Good size portion. Well presented food. Lots of home baked Goods to choose from and home made jams, sauces, deserts you can take home. Breakfast is Good too. Highly recommend
