Morrissey's in Doonbeg

From check-in to check-out, the experience was flawless. The rooms were pristine, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. However, the absolute highlight was the food—every meal was a culinary masterpiece. The breakfast buffet offered an amazing variety, and dinner at the hotel restaurant featured rich, perfectly balanced flavors. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Stayed at Morrissey’s last week, and all I can say is wow! I was blown away by the whole experience. The food was absolutely incredible, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was brilliant. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it!

We had a fantastic stay at Morrisey's Doonbeg. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the village and an ideal base for exploring the beautiful West Clare coastline. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The attention to detail and overall cleanliness really stood out. The restaurant was superb. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, with an excellent menu and generous portions. The staff throughout the hotel were warm, friendly, and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Overall, a wonderful experience with great accommodation, outstanding food, and genuine Irish hospitality. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely be returning.

We had dinner here recently and had a nice experience but probably wouldn't be rushing back for a few reasons. We visit Morrisseys every year from Kilkee. It has always had lovely fresh seafood and great service. We found the menu very limiting and over priced this year. For a West Clare restaurant we were looking forward to the usual fresh fish, maybe pan fried sole/sea bass etc but the only fresh fish options were on the special board with Turbot for 2 people at 90e or a seafood platter at 110e. There was also lobster at 40e. All pricey and the only fresh white fish was for 2 people which was really disappointing. The rest of the menu is very boring with the usual burgers, chicken supreme etc. the only other fish options were battered fish & chips which were fine. I had the linguine which was nice but very heavy on the butter. The calamari was excellent and the wings were fine. Service was friendly and efficient. Homemade bread to start was a nice touch. I don't know if it's worth the drive anymore and it really felt like they were out to get as much money as possible unless you wanted to stick to the more unexciting options.

Had a great meal here the other night, husband and I shared a crab claw starter and pan fried hake main - delicious! Only niggle was being asked every 5 minutes if everything was alright and such quick service that we were out within 30 minutes.

We stopped and ate lunch here. The wings were splendid and so was the Caesar salad. Great service and vibes!

Went for a restaurant experience, it was top-notch. The decor was modern, the food was Michelin star quality. We got 5 sets of fresh oysters ✨️ they were so, so good fresh and meaty, the best I've had in a long time. Then we sat down and got our menu and hot complentary bread with local butter- Wow.Everything on menu sounded so good, but my husband and I decided to settle on the seafood platter for two. If I hadn't had my chowder and a glass of wine before my platter, I would have definitely finished it. There was more than enough in the dish ,we couldn't finish it. Excellent service, portions are just right. I took photos of the desserts and our platter. Highly recommend for food. The price to quality of food is well justified. Great creamy chowder.

We had the most amazing evening at Morrissey’s in Doonbeg yesterday. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely top class. The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was exceptional, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or attentive. Every one of us chose seafood, and it was outstanding. I had the crab claws to start, followed by the seafood linguine, and both dishes were full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. The cocktails were great too 👌 What really made the experience special was the service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and nothing was too much trouble. A huge well done to the entire team. We left already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended!

Had a really good experience at Morrisseys. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were friendly from the moment we arrived. The food was great, with generous portions and plenty of choice on the menu. Everything came out quickly and was well prepared. Would definitely recommend and will be back again.
