The Snug in Mountshannon

Food was good value but service was terrible, no management present and you could tell. Had to call one of the waitresses to take out dessert order and four of them standing around talking.

We came here for lunch whilst passing through Mountshannon and the staff were more than happy to squeeze us in! The restaurant is a small cosy place with seating indoors and out. The pizzas were delicious as well as the ice coffee. Will definely be returning! Thank you

We stay at the lakeside campsite every few weeks, and while we love it at the campsite, our highlight is this absolute gem 🤣😂 we have looked at the menu loads of times, but we had the chicken club pizza first time 18 months ago. Since then, we can’t move from it 😂 we’ve since sent our camper friends there and they all have the same view, this place is really one you should not miss. Food is top, top class, the girl serving is just so lovely, and clearly the chef is brilliant. Indoor and outdoor seating, but I’d imagine if it’s a late feed, you’d need to book, don’t let this slip past you

We happened to by-pass this nice cozy little restaurant one minute before it opened (perfect timing). The waitresses are really nice and helpful. The waiting time for the food was not long (12 or 13 minutes) which is perfect for two pizzas made to order. Our pizzas (30 cm or 12 inch in diameter, large but not too large) were extraordinary; super thin but not burnt, very tasty, cleanly cut into pieces (in my experience that's nothing to be taken for granted). The "small" salad (with chicken stripes) was served in an average soup bowl, so that's not "small" compared with many other restaurants. It was fresh and great, the dressing (citrus, if memory serves me right) was very tasty (but not too intensely). The bread slices were fairly large and fluffy and perfect in taste. My pizza had mozzarella, tomato sauce, ham, pineapple, sliced mushrooms, and sweetcorn. I've tried this combo a few times over the past decades and was always disappointed until now; here this pizza was simply delightful, I rolled my eyes in pleasure and mumbled all the time because the taste was so fantastic. My wife's pizza Margherita was perfect as well. Much mozzarella but not too thick. Usually she eats half a pizza and leaves the remainder to me; this time she managed to eat almost the complete pizza and the salad, just because everything was so good. The cider was pretty good as well (I had tap water). The room is small and decorated with many older photographs. The interior looks a bit old-fashioned and is comfortable. Unfortunately we were so satisfied that we did not take any desert; we will have one next time we visit them again, this much is sure. For two persons we paid a total of 38 Euros which (as of our experience) is really not much for two pizzas plus salad plus cider. So our final statement is: definitely a place worth visiting, we will come back. Thank you so much for your extraordinary cuisine and service!

We had a fabulous starter, dinner, and dessert at The Snug Pizzeria. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and the quiet, peaceful setting made it ideal for a couple who wanted to catch up over dinner. Warm, relaxed and highly recommended!
