Extremely child friendly hotel and very casual. Viking tours available from outside the hotel and they return to the hotel except the last tour which does not return. There were a few boats docked at the pier outside the hotel. There are plenty of seating areas in the hotel to relax and chat with family and friends. Would recommend making dinner reservations as it was so busy.

Beautiful hotel, clean , comfortable rooms..staff very friendly..breakfast was lovely and so much to choose from , they even accommodated for my coeliac daughter...dinner was lovely..lovely walks around the hotel and only 10 minutes drive from the town..

I haven't been here since our wedding day about 17 years ago but we booked a Sunday early bird here last weekend for 11 of us and the food was absolutely terrific. The staff were excellent. I'll definitely be booking again, maybe just for 2 the next time 😉

I just stopped for lunch on route to Galway. I can’t give my opinion on the hotel as such but it’s in a beautiful location overlooking a lake. We had a nice lunch reasonably priced in a very nice setting. Staff were very friendly and the service was good . Not a bad pint of the black stuff either.

We stayed here for 4 nights. We can't fault this hotel lovely self-catering breakfast... We had dinner 2 of the nights I am not a very big eater, So I had soup but it was vegetables soup they only had vegetables soup on both nights.. All was good and the surroundings was lovely..

17/08/2025: Lovely place, service top class, food really good.
19/07/2025: Our B&B host recommended this place to us, and we were very happy we went there. It was very busy, but the staff worked hard and we got served quite quickly. The food was great, as was the atmosphere. Plus, as always outside of Dublin, we were nicely surprised by the prices 😉

22/06/2025: Visited today. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were really professional. Starter and dessert were both very good. The main was just okay — I had high expectations based on the reviews, but it didn’t quite deliver. My partner’s steak was blue inside instead of medium rare, with a few chunks of fat and no seasoning + no steak knife, which left him a bit frustrated. I’d return for the setting and service, but probably not for the food.
21/05/2025: I got to luckily photograph a wedding at this gorgeous little venue a couple of week ago. And if you're looking for a venue for a more intimate stress free wedding I can't recommend this enough. Amazing staff, quirky features well it was a post office which is so cool and the grounds are beautifully kept. looking forward to being back soon :) Andy @ forgedinlovephotography
