Food poor. Well over priced. Poorly presented. Over 40 euro for a medicore steak with burnt onions on top and greasy wedges. No thanks. I would not recommend. Prawn and chorizo looked as if a child made it. Tasted fine but for the expense it was only low standard. I was expecting way more considering all the excellent reviews. I eat out alot so my expectations may be higher than others.
As far as I can tell the staff are what people go for. The make you feel welcome and really are exceptional. Just very unfortunate about the food.

04/07/2024: Visited last when you had to dine outside due to covid,we really enjoyed our lunch then . We returned this time and lunched in the restaurant food good but better atmosphere when we dined outside under heated umbrella.

03/07/2024: A massive thank you to the staff at Ardcarne! I risked buying some creeping thyme online after failing to find the white variety nearby where we live. I was hesitant as I’d never ordered a live plant before and worried it would be in terrible shape by the time it arrived. I was delighted to receive them in perfect condition as they’d be packaged so thoroughly and thoughtfully. Many thanks to you!

15/03/2024: Very tasty food, there are large portions and the prices are very fair. The dishes can vary from day to day, the current dishes are written on a board. This is good and sustainable, offering what is freshly available.
The staff is very friendly and quick. This is how I imagine a good bar to be.

15/04/2024: Best pub I have ever been in, the pub was so cosy friendly and Gene the manager was a proper character. He couldn't do enough for us. We had a sing song with the local and omg Gene can play and sing anything bless him he is amazing . Oh it's 10 euros to stay in your campervan on his carpark . The pub doesn't open until 8 to 8.30 but want a night, the locals are amazing and so friendly. I wish I could of stayed the whole holiday. Oh and we even got 2 of his fresh eggs as a treat for breakfast . What a guy and what a pub 👏 thank you Gene and locals for giving us an amazing night

05/04/2024: Wonderful little place my husband and I were happy to try whilst visiting family. Some of the best coffee we'd had in years. You can tell Daniel is passionate and skilled. We wish him many happy years there. We'll be back for sure!
09/03/2024: Just damn fine coffee, IMO the best in the west. Zero pretensions, and the proprietor Daniel is always in great form, full of friendly chat. Strong recommend.
