The best restaurants in Roscommon

18/11/2023: Absolutely fabulous meal last night. The flavours were unreal in every dish we had. This restaurant is a must if you want to give your tastbuds a treat.

02/04/2024: In fairness was very busy, we walked in, got a table near door so continued to be open, making it a cold place 2 sit. Service was ok, they were under pressure, food was nice, a little cold, but tasty, a bit on the expensive side for what you get though. Nice staff, good pints.

28/03/2024: Had a booking for 10 for a birthday party dinner and drinks. From first contact with David to arrange booking professional and accommodating. On the night from walking in the door, staff friendly and helpful. Service for our group of 10 was well organised and no issues. Easy to get staffs attention when needed. The food was excellent quality, especially the fillet of steak, cooked exactly as asked which recently has been hard to find.

25/10/2023: We stopped here for lunch and it was great! Staff were very friendly, bathroom was clean and food was good. Very cool little spot with history.

22/09/2023: What a great little stop. I'm glad my wife and sister had to use the restrooms. The building was awesome. Great history. Beautiful old architecture. Awesome eating/banquet area upstairs. Great snacks and gifts. Very friendly staff. Great views of the stone Shannon Bridge.

27/03/2024: Absolutely fantastic. Very well run establishment, had the turkey and stuffing on sourdoe bread (10/10) nicest sandwich I have had in a long time. Staff are so friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend for a visit

18/03/2024: We stayed at Keenans over the St. Patrick's weekend and loved it. My room had a charming little balcony with a table and 2 chairs so I could sit and look out at the magnificent River Shannon right there in front of the hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean, pleasantly decorated and well equipped with everything we could need. The staff were informal and pleasant and I thought they were very patient with the antics of the 2 toddlers we had with us. Dinner was delicious breakfast the following morning was perfectly cooked and presented. The kind waitress went out of her way to make sure we had everything we wanted and she enabled us to relax and enjoy the treat. I would highly recommend Keenans as a most pleasant place to stay while visiting the area.

30/03/2024: I stayed here in Good Friday, staff is very friendly, the rooms are well equipped and decorated nicely. My bed was comfortable. Added bonus for some if you like the smell of fried chips my room was covered in it from the vent outside. It was a bit noisy but not too bad. The breakfast is included in the price so that was soooo nice and you can have a cooked breakfast along with mini croissants, pain au chocolat and fruit and yoghurt etc. Parking is just past the hotel/bar on the right.

03/04/2024: I have to say one of the loveliest hotels I've stayed in. Clean, efficient service, friendly and efficient staff and one of the nicest restaurant's I have ever experienced. Also the breakfast is probably the best I've ever had in any hotel I've stayed in. First time there and would definitely recommend and will be back again. The location is absolutely stunning.

30/03/2024: Beautiful hotel badly let down by service in bar restaurant., and in dining room. Young staff doing their best but no managers there to direct them. Octagon restaurant was exceptionally good, because there was a manager or senior staff member there every morning. All other staff were courteous and helpful. Staff need better training and a manager needs to be present to supervise and direct them when necessary.

17/11/2023: There is nothing more or less there. And everything first rate. Both what the owner does and what she outsources. Wonderful açaí. Coxinha better than Lecado in Rio de Janeiro. Service, environment and service top marks.

15/02/2024: Disappointed! Had dinner reservations for valentines evening. When we arrived the place was packed and when we entered and told the young lady we had a reservation for 5:30 she politely told us that they were closed for a private function. Put a real damper on our valentines celebration.
