The Friary
15/10/2025: We were visiting from Florida to find my ancestral grave site in Roscommon and stopped in at the friary on our way back. The food was great! My wife and family all had the traditional meal and I had the chicken goudons which were good. I wish I would have tried the lamb special but hope to return one day.

25/01/2026: A group of family members had a lovely meal in Hester's today. As usual the food was excellent, the service was very friendly, prompt and efficient. They were very busy but it was all managed.
23/11/2025: Had Sunday lunch, arrived about 3pm, lovely crowd in the restaurant, nice buzz. Seated within minutes, excellent staff and service. Dinner was 1st class, I had the roast pork with stuffings n apple sauce, husband had the homemade beef burger in gravy, both came with mash potatoes, beautiful freshly cooked vegetables and chips. Food was piping hot. Really happy we with our meals.

08/02/2026: We as a party of 4 ate here a few weeks ago. We were so disappointed. Service awful. Chicken wings were from frozen and very dry . Steak sandwich was pieces of steak like stewing meat and awful. Fish and chips awful. Batter on fish soggy and tasteless. We would never return after all cost 170 euro
