The best restaurants in Roscommon

21/05/2025: The place is great. The food is mediocre, and the beers are from cans. We paid 88 euros for four people.

05/10/2024: this goes to show how personal taste is, I saw one of the few bad reviews complaining that the polled pork wrap was tasteless, when I absolutely loved the flav or explosion it provided imho. it wasn't too salty, but instead had a lof of juicier flavor component blended together so well, that I struggle to name them. it was also a very good sized dish and came with 3 salads all of which were good, and I wish I could ask for the kale quinoa salad recipe (I am usually not a fan of Q or uncooked K but OMG soo good and light). yes I understand that it is a to go place and thus the cutlery is wooden, I honestly wish it would have been wooden chopsticks which would have made eating easier. I LOVED it . If I lived in the athlone region we would be regulars.

04/10/2024: If you traverse the country and need a food break, or just are lucky enough to live in the area, this place is AMAZING. yes it is nestled into a very utilitarian space but it has roofed outdoor possibilities in addition to the few cozy seats and a good restroom. But the FOOD..the food is just amazing. I had a wrap with 3 salads. And in addition to them being sooo good (but yes quite spicy) I can tell they are designed to hold up the "leftover" time periods of take out, which is rare in salads..also..a kale salad with quinoa that tasted good and LIGHT?? Amazing. If I lived in Arhlone this place would be at the top of my regular rotation for take out. Soo good. Thank you for feeding ne so well.

24/04/2025: We had a really lovely stay at Durkins in one of their family rooms. The rooms were clean and comfy. My sisters and I are vegan and they were so accommodating and kind, both for dinner and breakfast. The stuffed peppers were delicious, with flavours of caramelised onion and a delicious tomato sauce. Sounds basic but was really flavourful. The vegan full Irish was delicious and again the blonde lady couldn't do enough for us, making sure we were looked after well. Thanks again to the lovely staff and chef. We would definitely stay again!

23/04/2025: Absolutely fantastic experience with Durkins, who catered our recent christening! From start to finish, the service was top class—professional, friendly, and seamless. The food was nothing short of exceptional. The curry and stew were both absolutely delicious—flavoursome, hearty, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. Everyone at the event was raving about the food! A special mention has to go to Eileen, who went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Her attention to detail and warm manner really stood out and made the day even more special. Highly recommend Durkins for any event—top-notch food and brilliant service! Five stars without a doubt.
