21/06/2025: Really glad we stopped in. Staff was so so lovely and The food was delicious! Will definitely be back!

15/06/2025: I’m a local and love dropping in for a bite to eat every now & then. Staff are all super friendly and genuinely couldn’t do more if they tried. I often end up chatting with them while I’m eating, it’s a very welcoming vibe. Beautiful food and restaurant.

05/10/2024: this goes to show how personal taste is, I saw one of the few bad reviews complaining that the polled pork wrap was tasteless, when I absolutely loved the flav or explosion it provided imho. it wasn't too salty, but instead had a lof of juicier flavor component blended together so well, that I struggle to name them. it was also a very good sized dish and came with 3 salads all of which were good, and I wish I could ask for the kale quinoa salad recipe (I am usually not a fan of Q or uncooked K but OMG soo good and light). yes I understand that it is a to go place and thus the cutlery is wooden, I honestly wish it would have been wooden chopsticks which would have made eating easier. I LOVED it . If I lived in the athlone region we would be regulars.

04/10/2024: If you traverse the country and need a food break, or just are lucky enough to live in the area, this place is AMAZING. yes it is nestled into a very utilitarian space but it has roofed outdoor possibilities in addition to the few cozy seats and a good restroom. But the FOOD..the food is just amazing. I had a wrap with 3 salads. And in addition to them being sooo good (but yes quite spicy) I can tell they are designed to hold up the "leftover" time periods of take out, which is rare in salads..also..a kale salad with quinoa that tasted good and LIGHT?? Amazing. If I lived in Arhlone this place would be at the top of my regular rotation for take out. Soo good. Thank you for feeding ne so well.

02/07/2025: Delicious dinner at Fox & Hounds. We came rather late, but they were still able to serve us. I had the pan fried Foie Gras, which was lovely with a delicious gravy. However, the highlight was the burger, which had a great thick juicy patty, and a deep fried brie wedge, which was fantastic. The service was also great, we felt very welcome. Will come back again!

20/07/2025: Out of the way place well worth the effort. Great food, beautiful location. Found out by accident, but will now return every time we're in lough key. Make the effort and go visit.

10/07/2025: Beautiful setting. Really friendly staff. Rang ahead and Roger had a berth available and helped us pull the boat in. Food was excellent. Couldn't finish the ribs but got them to take away for later. Will be back.

19/07/2025: Have eaten here a few times and have to say its very very good, great selection on the menu and very homey type food, I can easily say you wont regret stopping here for a bite to eat or a couple cold ones.

06/07/2025: i went in here for saturday lunch with my mother. they took our order and brought out our starter really quickly and it was fantastic. unfortunately they then totally forgot about us and id say we were left waiting about an hour for our main course. it was terrific when it finally arrived but it was very bad service.

25/07/2025: Decent place, big rooms and lots of space Its a bit in the past on decor / general feel / bar and food but we’re not in a city so to be expected a bit Breakfast was alright, Could get a cooked breakfast / eggs Benedict etc Staff really friendly and helpful It’s about a 25min walk from town

15/07/2025: Wouldn't recommend and won't eat here again. First occasion I was overcharged for the breakfasts, I did email them to let them know this as I was home when I noticed, but I didn't even receive a courtesy reply. I am a believer in not judging by one bad experience, so visited again. This time the egg on my breakfast was undercooked, I asked them if they could cook a little longer, request was clearly ignored as it seemed like the egg was flipped on the plate, the white was still runny and undercooked, I couldn't eat it. I don't understand how you can treat customers with such disregard. It was a simple request. But the fact they ignore complaints in general is a red flag.

23/06/2025: We were asked 2 times whether we had a booking even though the place was not busy. Unfriendly staff, food was overpriced for what it was, we would not return. Whenwe were paying for the bill the price of a dish was increased by a euro from the price on the menu.
