Wow what a wonderful place so welcomming.loads of crack great trad sessions .pub is amazing loadz of room out back for campervan parking 10 euro a night cant go wrong so peaceful at night .i slept great last night.we met gene the owner such a lovely person.stayed 2 nights will deffo b back again cant wait🥳

We stayed overnight here in our motorhome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Gene, the owner, is a character and a lovely man and his barman Kyle is a really nice lad. It was a Wednesday night and locals and visitors alike played music and sang, the atmosphere is very good and welcoming. The Guinness was first class, Gene even told me to pull my own pint as he was busy, lol. I would highly recommend a visit here if you're anywhere near Carrick on Shannon, it's only 4.5km outside the town. The pub opens at 8pm and the music sessions are on a Wednesday and Saturday nights although I believe there is also music on other nights. There was about 10 motorhomes parked up for the night and the carpark is far enough in from the road that it's nice and quiet. There's an honesty box, a drinking water tap and a book library for motorhome visitors.

The Thatched pub was a fabulous find for a motorhome stop over. There was ample level parking and water top up. This pub is truely authentic. The locals were all friendly and welcoming, especially to anyone who plays music and your free to join in. For a Friday night the place was pumping and we celebrated till the wee hours. We were happily surprised when Jean dropped off croissants for us in the morning. Thanks for a wonderful night.

Fantastic traditional pub with a real authentic Irish feel. The trad music sessions were brilliant, lively, spontaneous, and full of character. We parked the motorhome and stayed overnight. We will definitely be back soon.

A very nice evening, great pub with friendly people; everyone who can and wants to joins in the live music. It doesn't open until after 8 pm.
