Hodson Bay Hotel in

I have to say one of the loveliest hotels I've stayed in. Clean, efficient service, friendly and efficient staff and one of the nicest restaurant's I have ever experienced. Also the breakfast is probably the best I've ever had in any hotel I've stayed in. First time there and would definitely recommend and will be back again. The location is absolutely stunning.

Beautiful hotel badly let down by service in bar restaurant., and in dining room. Young staff doing their best but no managers there to direct them. Octagon restaurant was exceptionally good, because there was a manager or senior staff member there every morning. All other staff were courteous and helpful. Staff need better training and a manager needs to be present to supervise and direct them when necessary.

Room was lovely maybe a little dusty but perfect size, shower we fab. Spa lovely. Well worth it. Deep tissue was amazing. Food was good but a little over dressed. Maybe too much unnecessary sauce. However Ezio at the bar was phenomenal, standard cocktails were beautiful but he went out of his way for our request and with a smile too. Honestly the hotel has a stunning location and the hotel staff may be a little over run on the Easter weekend but over all the experience was lovely, would recommend to anyone and will most certainly will come again.

Had a work Lunch here and food was fantastic, and service was excellent!

Ours daughters booked a break for us to celebrate our 50th wedding anniv at the Hudson Bay hotel. I hoped for a nice room and maybe if we were lucky an upgrade. Unfortunately neither happened but on our second day there, a lovely gentleman named James tried his best to square the circle. I knew my husband would want to stay in the room we were alloted rather than move to another room. He said if it had happened on the day we arrived, that would have been fine. The room was smallish with a double & single bed, obviously a family room as there an interconnecting door of it and our view was the heating system and a side glance of the lake. For me I was heartbroken but it was what it was. There was no recognition by the hotel of our golden anniversary, not even a welcome message on the big screen in the room. The food served was excellent and I have to compliment a young woman who worked in the food serving in the bar, who has taken a break from Galway University sorry I don't know your name but you did the hotel proud. I think some of the managers need retraining with the exception of James and another young man who was working during breakfast time. The others I felt would pass you in the corridors, not speak or make eye contact with the paying residents. It's very rude and disrespectful in my humble opinion. It doesn't cost anything to say "good morning" etc. James the managing staff need to go back to in-house courtesy training. It also shows the non managerial staff how to treat the customers. People are using their hard earned money to come and stay at your hotel and should be treated as such.

Exceptional hotel! TOP courtesy and professionalism. Very nice, spacious rooms and impeccable cleanliness. Exceptional breakfast, smoked salmon in the buffet. Great location. The best hotel in the county! Kudos to all staff and management!

Stayed here last week with 3 friends. Fab experience. Loved everything about the hotel. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Martin in the restaurant made us feel so welcome and did a great job. All the staff in the hotel were amazing. Loved the breakfast room with views of the lake and a great selection of food. Would highly recommend this hotel and we will def be back.

We had our wedding at the Hodson Bay Hotel in April last year. We had a fantastic weekend all thanks to the hard work and dedication from Erica and the wider team at the hotel. We cannot speak highly enough about how friendly, helpful and professional everyone was from the first day we viewed the venue to the wedding weekend itself. It was a pleasure dealing with Erica throughout planning process and on the day too. Everything we discussed was executed perfectly and she put us at ease so we could really enjoy our day. Our guests were well looked after and the food was delicious. Thank you so much to the team at Hodson Bay for helping to make our day so fun and relaxed. We would recommend the Bay as a wedding venue for anyone looking for somewhere situated in a beautiful setting, great food and friendly environment.

Attended a wedding over the St Patrick’s Weekend. The Hotel was probably at capacity, however the service and friendliness of the staff was superb!!
