Very friendly staff behind the bar. It was a quiet spot for a pint in the hustle and bustle of temple bar we found this gem. Lovely pint of Guinness. Proper Irish pub.

Perched prominently on South Great George's Street, Hogan's Bar stands as a magnificent bridge between the traditional Dublin boozer and the city’s vibrant, modern social scene. It is a hub of activity, people-watching, and, crucially, a highly respected purveyor of what many locals argue is one of the best, most consistently satisfying pints of Guinness in the entire city. The moment your pint is settled and placed before you, the quality is undeniable. The stout at Hogan's is often praised for its perfect temperature, its rich, dark color, and a dome of creamy foam that holds its structure flawlessly. The "yummy" factor is high: it's incredibly smooth on the palate, with that perfect balance of coffee and malt notes that defines a masterfully poured pint. In a city full of great Guinness, Hogan's dedication to freshness and pour technique places it firmly among the elite. While the Guinness might be old-school perfect, the pub's atmosphere is pure contemporary Dublin. Hogan's is famous for its large, street-facing windows, turning the bar into a theatre for observing the eclectic hustle of George's Street. By day, it's a laid-back spot perfect for chilling, reading, and conversation. But as the week winds down, the energy explodes. Hogan's seamlessly transitions into a lively late bar, especially when the music kicks off in the downstairs "International Beat Basement." This dual identity—a solid traditional pub with a great pint on the main floor, and a trendy, high-energy spot below—is what makes Hogan's a landmark. If you’re seeking a vibrant spot where the atmosphere is as electric as the stout is velvety, Hogan's is an absolute must-visit. It’s a guaranteed great pint and a guaranteed good time.

I didn't find this place until a couple days before I left Dublin. They had my favorite Swedish Cider Kopparberg. It gets pretty busy at times but worth a visit.

Great till-late bar, with a good atmosphere. The terrace is an excellent spot for people -watching activities during the day, while at night the inside atmosphere goes party like.
