The place is nice, but the staff is super slow and the prices are overpriced, a small salad costs 15 euros.

The place was very good, but it was crowded and the service was not very good.

Lovely pub, wonderful decorations for Christmas

Just popped in for coffee after walk in the park. Christmas decorations just fantastic. Also dog friendly which was great. Highly recommend. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere all around.

A Festive Gem I visited the Hole in The Wall restaurant today and was thoroughly impressed by the stunning Christmas decorations. It’s a beautiful spot, perfect for the festive season and a great place to take photos or check-in if you’re in the area. The effort they’ve put into creating such a warm and magical atmosphere is truly commendable. In terms of pricing, I’d say it’s fair considering their passion for making the place so festive. Service-wise, I’ve read several reviews about poor service, but in my experience, it wasn’t as bad as others described. It’s understandable that the staff might be busy, but a little improvement—like being less pushy and adding a few more genuine smiles—would make a big difference. That said, I was lucky to have Mick as our server. He was fantastic—sincere, humorous, and always with a smile. His wonderful attitude truly stood out, and I honestly think he deserves recognition as the best employee there! As for the food, it was fine—nothing extraordinary but no complaints either. Overall, the decorations and atmosphere are the main highlights, with service depending on who you get. It’s worth a visit during the holidays!

Fabulous place. I went there the last weekend and it looks entering in a fairy tales book! There are no words to describe this place. It’s gorgeous. Full of of Xmas decorations and the atmosphere is so cozy, warm and relaxing. I drank a cup of tea and I liked it. Prices are very good. I’ll definitely come back for lunch. Highly recommended place.

Not as good as it used to be but is slowly coming back to its glory. WC needs attention. It is rotting.

Fabulous venue in a fantastic, historical area beside the Phoenix Park. On this occasion it lacked the Céad Míle Fáilte and the lack of hospitality was disappointing even though all staff on duty were mature- no check back on food, no upselling , no attention to detail and no wine list which we found absurd…..and not busy at the time. Certainly wouldn’t put us off returning and giving it another chance considering the current difficulties in hospitality.

The Hole in the Wall is a beautiful pub that offers an excellent selection of food and drinks to suit every taste. Ideally located beside Phoenix Park, it’s the perfect spot to relax and unwind. I’m also a big fan of Dash, the coffee shop next to the pub, which is ideal for a quick stop or grabbing a snack and drink on the go—especially the 99s! The service at both the pub and Dash is very good, and Martin, the owner, is a perfect host. Both the Hole in the Wall and Dash are assets to the community, with Martin and his team consistently going above and beyond to support local charities, societies, and clubs. I would highly recommend you call in.
