I had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Hole in the Wall near Phoenix Park, and it was truly an experience to remember! I ordered the basic burger and chips with bacon and cheese, which was fantastic—great quality, perfectly cooked, and reasonably priced at €15. It was a delicious meal, but the real highlight was the apple crumble.
This dessert was out of this world! It came with all the bells and whistles—ice cream, cream, custard, strawberries, and blueberries—a stunning combination of flavors and textures that felt like something from another planet. The presentation was flawless, and every bite was pure bliss. Without a doubt, it’s the best dessert I’ve ever had!
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with breathtaking Christmas decorations that created a magical and festive setting. To top it all off, the staff were astonishingly beautiful, both in their kindness and their professionalism. Their impeccable service made me feel completely at home and added so much to the overall experience.
I can’t thank everyone at The Hole in the Wall enough for such a beautiful evening—it truly made this my best Christmas ever. If you’re looking for amazing food, incredible desserts, a cozy holiday vibe, and exceptional staff, this is the place to be. Highly recommended! ❤️

It’s the most decorative pub to visit during Christmas, lots of places to sit and very good food options. And the staff is very warm and welcoming.

Very busy New Year's Day, impromptu decision to get dinner here without booking. After some searching and waiting, we managed to grab a vacant table. Food was great and excellent service.

Fabulous venue in a fantastic, historical area beside the Phoenix Park.
On this occasion it lacked the Céad Míle Fáilte and the lack of hospitality was disappointing even though all staff on duty were mature- no check back on food, no upselling , no attention to detail and no wine list which we found absurd…..and not busy at the time.
Certainly wouldn’t put us off returning and giving it another chance considering the current difficulties in hospitality.

The Hole in the Wall is a beautiful pub that offers an excellent selection of food and drinks to suit every taste. Ideally located beside Phoenix Park, it’s the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
I’m also a big fan of Dash, the coffee shop next to the pub, which is ideal for a quick stop or grabbing a snack and drink on the go—especially the 99s!
The service at both the pub and Dash is very good, and Martin, the owner, is a perfect host. Both the Hole in the Wall and Dash are assets to the community, with Martin and his team consistently going above and beyond to support local charities, societies, and clubs.
I would highly recommend you call in.
