Hummingbird Cafe in Portarlington

After a recommendation we called into hummingbird for a snack. It was 4.30. We were curtly told no deli food available by a very unfriendly lady. She was making up something for people and sharply asked them ingredients, no expression, no chat. They remarked to us she was "like a briar". Won't be back, a smile, chat about the weather..anything would have worked. Very disappointed.

Really nice decor and friendly staff, but the coffee unfortunately isn't great, nor is the lemonade. The coffee was a little burnt and bitter in taste.

A great place in Portarlington to meet up. Great food, service and friendly professional staff. Might even pick up a bargain in store.

This is one of my favourite places. Rowan and Edel with their team do a fabulous job. Beautiful home decor and interior design, top notch food. Highly recommended

The atmosphere is cozy, the staff are attentive, and the food is wonderful; I highly recommend this place. Without a doubt the best in the city.

Overall a charming, almost cosy, coffee shop with a terrific array of foods, from delicious bakery, to sumptuous toasted sandwiches, Irish breakfasts and many others. Lovely service, quiet relaxing classic music in the background and very comfortable seating. All combined to give a lovely dining experience. Would definitely recommend.

The best pastries around! (Avoid the sandwichs). Lovely decor but hard to get a seat with children.

Lovely food, reasonable price, friendly staff and great coffee.
