Rio's Takeaway & Wood Fired Pizzeria
Portarlington
02/09/2026: Great, friendly team and delicious food!
We often pop in for lunch and will definitely keep coming back to support a local business that genuinely cares and puts in the effort.
Thank you for all the lovely lunches!
01/09/2026: Not a bad place. Delicious food. And good service. It's quite expensive, but worth it.

The Snack Cafe
Portarlington
12/08/2026: Really fast service, and staff are very friendly, lots of fillings to choose from and you can get hot or cold drinks. Really clean inside and very efficient. You don't have to wait long even if there is a crowd And there are plenty of places to sit outside to enjoy your sandwich.

Portarlington
25/09/2026: I’ve never had a bad dish from this place, always good. Chicken biryani is great 👍
13/08/2026: My family and I always order an Indian from here! I usually order the Butter Chicken Masala or sometimes Chicken Tikka Masala and they're both lovely! We also get Egg Fried Rice. The staff are lovely and it's lovely to dine in. The menu is fantastic with lots of options!

27/09/2026: I heard so many positive things about this place but looks can be so
deceiving I loved all the old antique memobrila the young lad in the garden centre was lovely and well mannered as for the 2 girls serving and the lady the woman who brought out our food was nothing short of rude no thank you yor welcome we just ate our food and left absolutely disappointed with the place will never call again

Anvil Inn
Portarlington
07/10/2026: Extremely bad food was served. Terrible customer service and some rude staff. Our chicken panini which was actually a roll had no sauce and was so dry. Chicken was not cooked in a sauce or seasoning instead a hefty amount of seasoning was fired on just before serving. The price for what was served was extremely insulting. This experience really put us off the town of Portarlington. This is probably one of the worst food experiences I’ve ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!
05/10/2026: Brilliant venue for a party. Thanks for making Mam's 80th lunch so successful. Would recommend highly for great space, food and service.

01/10/2026: My local station, staff are very nice and helpful.
01/07/2026: Hi guys. Ive just witnessed one of your staff helping a guy who seemed to be visabley impaired across the petrol station court and out to the footpath where he said thankyou and good bye.
That was wonderful. Im not sure of her name but she works behind the till and has blonde hair and tattoos. To you I tip my hat. We need more people like you in the world. Grà mór!

Hummingbird Cafe
Portarlington
23/06/2026: After a recommendation we called into hummingbird for a snack. It was 4.30. We were curtly told no deli food available by a very unfriendly lady. She was making up something for people and sharply asked them ingredients, no expression, no chat. They remarked to us she was "like a briar".
Won't be back, a smile, chat about the weather..anything would have worked.
Very disappointed.
20/06/2026: Coffee is too hot and bitter.
The lemonade is sour to the maximum. You better off drinking just pure lemons or a san Pellegrino can.
But the atmosphere of the place is lovely and the service is really good too.

Oriental New Star
Portarlington
12/08/2026: Hate to say as they were always my go to Chinese restaurant but they’ve gone downhill a lot. There was little to no seasoning in most of the food especially the chicken balls, maybe they forgot due to being busy but not great when spending money as a treat. Also bland sweet and sour. They forgot to deliver the curry too. The delivery fee has also jumped from €9.50 to €13.50
11/08/2026: I had a Saturday evening meal there with the family, and it was wonderful. They had the best food I have ever tasted.

Zingyzest Take Away Portarlington
Portarlington
01/09/2026: Horrible place. Horrible design. And also terribly expensive and tasteless food.
29/08/2026: Third order in a row I've not been happy with. From food arriving cold to not paying attention to order notes. Used to be great but has declined a lot over the last year. Never an apology or any attempt to rectify the bad service. Lesson learned. Tonight is the last time I use this place.
