Brilliant venue for a party. Thanks for making Mam's 80th lunch so successful. Would recommend highly for great space, food and service.

Brilliant pub. Best place in the whole town. A semi mature crowd. Never any trouble with a great staff and atmosphere. In my personal opinion the only place to have a few drinks and craic in all of Laois. Certainly one of the best pubs in all of Ireland

Great bar. Helpful staff, fair prices, good atmosphere. Good outdoor seating too and often has live music. Food is served until 4pm - it's all good. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic place for couple drinks

Had our medal award ceremony for local teen football team in The Anvil, the staff were friendly and kind to the players, food was excellent, premises were ideal for this purpose and they allowed us in beforehand to decorate etc. Food was lovely, all attendees highly complimentary and I could not recommend a better place for an event such as this, thank you to all in The Anvil for a great day.

Popped in on a Tuesday night hoping to get food. The very attentive barmaid said that food stopped at 4pm. She was really helpful suggesting various places including Treacy's at The Heath. Thanks for the suggestion. It was fantastic. Will drop in to your pub next time we're in the area.

I'm torn, the staff are lovely but going here really depends on the day. I've had great nights out here, listening to live music and having great drinks, the outside area is great all times of the year with heaters installed above seating. Not to mention that the drinks aren't too expensive and a wide variety of options. Though I've also gone here for lunch and if was very disappointing, staff member kept forgetting what we had ordered, soup was beyond salty, coffee was burnt and overall the food wasn't very good. I've also gone here on nights out and been handed dirty glasses to drink out of.
