We were on our way to Trinity College to visit the library, the Book of Kells, when we saw this museum. You don't need to be a whisky connoisseur or an expert; you just need a little curiosity about the history of this distillate, best known as Scottish. At the Irish Whiskey Museum, you're taken on a guided mini-tour where the guide tells you about the origins and the influence of politics on the development of the commercialization of this distillate, made once, twice, or even three times from malted (germinated barley). The need to include the letter 'E' in the product's name comes from the requirement of the demarcated region; whisky is exclusive to products produced in the Highlands of Scotland. At the end of the tour, you're taken to taste at least four different types of whiskey, distinguished by their color, aroma, time in the barrel, and type of barrel. There's a small shop selling most of the whiskeys tasted. It's well worth it.

Very friendly guide who told us many stories and interesting facts. We were lucky that it was just the two of us so we got a private tour and a great experience!

A special mention to the waitress, Marina, who was incredibly kind and attentive. She made us feel very welcome and definitely added to the overall experience.
