On a day i visited with my friends, half things on the menu were not available. The quality of the food is not the best. There is nothing unique about the food we got The place itself gas a litbif potential. But on a day we visited it was dirty and it feels like nobody looked after it.

Called in on a busy Sunday for some dinner. Was given a beeper token and told 20/25 mins. An efficient way to queue. 22 mins later we were at our table and ten mins later had starters and drinks. Nice food and decent sized portions, not crazy big so you can manage the three courses.... As three courses for €21 offers best value. Good variety of options too. Toilets are well kept, staff were friendly and although the place is busy it didn't feel over crowded. Handy to get off and back on M11. Will definitely return sometime when passing with a big appetite!

Food was very good and very good price for 3 course only criticism is the kids menu we had a child with us who doesn't eat chips and basically fast food the menu offered pork or bacon with veg but this couldn't be met so he had veg and chicken gougens which the chicken was left his grandad eat them but overall fabulous place to eat at an great price

Staying nearby and went for dinner. Great value. The food was very good and piping hot. Puddings were great and homemade. The crumble was the best I’ve had - perfectly sweetened and spiced with ginger. The staff are so friendly and clearly very hard working. Loved it

It’s a great place to pop into for a bite after a good walk on the beach. It’s a 1980’s-style menu with deep fried Brie and garlic mushrooms but the food we had was tasty and reasonable and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. The ladies loos were a bit dirty today but I told the manager and he was lovely about it.

We went here for a family lunch. When I told the waitress I was coeliac she had no problem telling me which menu items were gluten free. She was excellent through out the meal. I had, nachos to start. Bacon and cabbage (no sauce) for main and an ice cream Sunday for desert. All for around €20. Not the greatest restaurant in the world but a lovely road side place. I would go here again for some traditional Irish pub grub. My biggest fault is that I had to drive there so I couldn’t have a drink by the open fire in the bar.

Bakestone

19/05/2025: Fantastic place, great food, recommended for all
22/04/2025: Located in Fota Retail Park, Carrigtwohill, Bakestone Café & Pantry offers a delightful dining experience with its emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and artisanal products. Established by Joe and Maura Carey in 2013, this café has become a staple in East Cork, celebrated for its all-day menu featuring high-quality breakfast options and a wide selection of Irish artisan foods. **Ambiance and Service:** The café boasts a bright and airy atmosphere, perfect for casual gatherings. The staff are generally friendly and efficient, though some visitors have noted inconsistencies in service quality. **Food Quality:** While some patrons rave about the delicious breakfast dishes and fresh baked goods, others have reported mixed experiences with food temperature and presentation. The café's focus on local producers is commendable, but consistency in food quality seems to be an area for improvement. **Unique Features:** Bakestone's partnership with Badger & Dodo for their exclusive coffee blend, Common Grounds, adds a unique touch. The Pantry section offers an impressive array of artisanal products, highlighting over 150 Irish producers. **Conclusion:** Bakestone Café & Pantry is a charming spot with potential, but it needs to address the inconsistencies in food quality and service to fully meet customer expectations. Despite this, it remains a popular choice for those seeking a local, artisanal dining experience in East Cork.

The Mill Bar

14/04/2025: Stopped in awhile go but was thinking back on our time in Ireland and how The Mill was one of our highlights. The town is so charming with the river, the crepes and coffee are amazing, and everything was just so cozy!
03/02/2025: So glad I decided to stop by while travelling with my bike! I was welcomed with a friendly smile, had a delicious black coffee and a lovely chat with Kasia (hopefully I spelled it correctly 😊) and her sister. Thanks for making my day, will definitely come back and visit again soon! 🩷
