Second time visiting. Food is amazing and staff is always friendly and efficient. We had a bit of a wait for the dog friendly area but it was worth it as it was in a quieter area a bit further from the live music and the shared tables. An experience worth revisiting.

We went to Johnny Fox's Pub as a group expecting a fun but tourist-style night. What we got was something much better.
The dinner and show is full of life. Outstanding musicians, high-energy dancers, and a room that pulls you in. It feels authentic, not staged.
Then came the surprise. The food. The fish chowder was one of the best we had in Ireland, and the Guinness beef pie was rich, hearty, and perfectly done.
This is one of those rare places that gets everything right. Great entertainment, great food, and a great atmosphere. If you’re traveling with a group, put this on your list. Highly recommended

We had to try the place that has ‘fox’ in its name! 😊🦊!
It was one of those places that feels like an experience before the food has even arrived. We went with family after it was recommended by a friend who lives in Wicklow, and it absolutely lived up to the tip-off.
Said to be the highest pub in Ireland, and also one of the oldest, it has a rare kind of atmosphere. The décor alone is worth lingering over, with historical photos, quirky artwork, and so many little details!
The service was polite and welcoming from the start, and even though it was busy, we really did not have to wait too long. That matters, especially when you are eating with children.
The food was sublime. Between us we had the beef cheeks stew, Guinness pie, lamb shanks and venison, and it all felt hearty, rich and properly satisfying. Dessert was a Bailey’s cheesecake, which was every bit as good as it sounds.
What made it especially easy with kids was that there was plenty to keep curious minds occupied while waiting, from the walls to the table mats to the garden area outside.
Would highly recommend if you are around Dublin Mountains or Wicklow and want somewhere full of personality, history and genuinely excellent food. Worth a detour.
