20/03/2026: It's rare I write reviews but I had to on this occasion given how amazing everything was there last night at the house of plates. Went to house of plates last night for my birthday for a 3 course meal and I cannot praise the food and service enough. 10/10 experience. The food and flavours were sensational just mouth watering. The service was amazing and professional and friendly and there were no time delays with any of the dishes. Also loved the little complimentary starters that were given before our own starters came such as the bread with the beautiful oil and balsamic vinegar. Also the presentation of each dish was beautiful and thoughtfully put together. Thanks for an amazing experience we will be back <3 Páraic and Laura

12/03/2026: I went to this restaurant a few months ago while driving from the West to Belfast, and what a wonderful occasion it was. I got speaking to the family who ran the place and they essentially joined me for dinner. Cooked me a beautiful carbonara dinner and we had a brilliant time. I want to thank them all for the amazing reception, food and atmosphere. They made me feel one of them and I want to wish them the best of luck in getting it up and running over the next years. When I'm back in Lanesborough, I'll definitely be stopping in! Get in here and support this fantastic restaurant with a gorgeous dinner to match!

09/03/2026: The atmosphere is fabulous, Family run business, food is unreal and the service amazing, their eye for every detail, if you haven't got a chance to dine yet its a must you won't be disappointed, all their dishes are cooked to order so fresh & delicious. I definitely to going back soon.

11/04/2026: A beautiful pub in Killiney. We experienced a very friendly host and his team. The Guinness was served perfectly poured. The food was truly delicious. We had a hearty soup and perfectly prepared king prawns Pil Pil style. The prawn sauce was incredibly delicious. The pub has a bright, nautical style. Beautifully bright and welcoming. Long story short: If you're ever in Killiney, you absolutely have to stop by. A clear recommendation. The Pil Pil prawns are especially recommended. Many thanks to the owner and his team for the great service. We'll definitely be back for a pint and the delicious prawns. Best wishes from Germany ❤️❤️

21/03/2026: The best pub in this little town. Atmosphere and live music was great and the workers/owner are all so lovely and welcoming, they also do good cocktails which pleasantly surprised us as its got such a traditional Irish pub feel.

19/03/2026: Great food with swift service even at the busiest of times. Would definitely go back for a few drinks of an evening. Loads of memorabilia on the walls and a lovely roaring open fire. Would return again.

17/03/2026: Such a great place. Lots of people so make a reservation if you can for food. For drinks you will manage to find a spot. The table next to the fireplace is the best spot on a cold day.

23/03/2026: Had a lovely catch up with friends. We had the charcuterie board pre ordered and really enjoyed every bit of it with a bottle of wine. Lovely atmosphere, music and staff. Thank you to all. I look forward to trying the pizza next!!

22/03/2026: Went here with my family and we had pizza. Pizza was gorgeous all together Ive been raving about it to everyone, I got served by a lady named maeve I think it was. She gave us fantastic service and constantly made sure we had our drinks and were okay. She genuinely was so friendly to myself and my family. Will go again great stuff all together!!

06/04/2026: We visited this pub for carvery with our two young children. My son had plain rice and he spilled some rice when eating it. Who I assume to be the manager was very rude and came over with another member of staff to clean up the floor and chair while we were still sitting there. She made us feel very unwelcome and had comments such as you should have gotten chips instead of rice and we can't have future guests in their nice dresses sitting in this seat. It wasn't busy when we were there and all the seats around us were empty, they could have cleaned up when we left. This is not a family friendly place, I would not recommend and will not be returning.

12/04/2026: Cool location. But yesterday evening I asked to the young barman at the main bar on the ground floor if he could please change the cocktail as it was not what I ordered and he just keep serving other people. I understand the music is loud and there can be misunderstanding but if the order is not right, that is barman mistake and I should be still getting what I asked.

06/02/2026: We travelled up from wexford for my wife's birthday. After a long trip we were met by the most incredible staff, gorgeous room and jaw dropping food. Easily the finest meal we've ever had and the breakfast next morning was just as spectacular. An unbelievable experience overall really capped off by the staff. Worth every kilometre, worth every euro. Can't wait to go back
