02/07/2026: The smoothies are amazing!! And they have a variety of pastries available. During the week, the menu is limited. I ordered chicken tikka flatbread and it was really good. The service was great and they accommodated a party of 7 without a problem, food was served at great speed as well!

29/06/2026: Urbanity has been one of the best spots for breakfast/brunch in Dublin for a decade. The menu is innovative, creative, and changes regularly. They make everything in-house and even roast their own coffee. Brilliant spot.

10/07/2026: We had a fantastic family dinner at House of Plates in Castlebar and it exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the restaurant had a warm, intimate atmosphere that immediately made for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. The dining room is beautifully presented and strikes a perfect balance between being elegant without feeling overly formal. The food was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. Every dish was beautifully presented with real attention to detail, and the flavours throughout the meal were exceptional. You can tell there is genuine care and creativity behind every plate. We especially loved the baked cod, which was cooked perfectly and packed with flavour, and the steak, which was tender, rich and expertly prepared. The scallops were outstanding, cooked beautifully and complemented by fantastic accompaniments, while the duck was another memorable course that everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed. Every member of our family commented on how much they loved their meal, which says a lot when everyone orders something different. One thing that really stood out was the generosity. The portion sizes were excellent, particularly considering the quality of the food. We were also pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful chef’s treats that arrived throughout the meal, adding an extra touch of luxury and making the whole experience feel special. The additional side dishes served with the mains were another unexpected bonus that we hadn’t anticipated and were very much appreciated. The wine pairings listed on the menu deserve a special mention. They were exceptionally well chosen and complemented each course perfectly, enhancing the flavours without overpowering them. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a complete dining experience rather than simply serving great food. The value for money is remarkable. A menu offering two courses for €55 or three courses for €62 is incredibly competitive considering the quality of the ingredients, the presentation, the additional chef’s surprises and the overall standard of cooking. It genuinely feels like you’re receiving a fine dining experience at a very fair price. If I was to offer any constructive feedback, it would only be on a couple of very small points. The lamb was slightly more cooked than we would have preferred, and while all of the staff were polite, the two younger members of the team could perhaps bring a little more enthusiasm and warmth to the service. These were very minor observations and certainly didn’t take away from what was otherwise a wonderful evening. Overall, House of Plates is a fantastic addition to Castlebar’s dining scene. Exceptional food, beautiful presentation, generous portions, excellent wine pairings, thoughtful little extras throughout the meal and outstanding value for money all combine to create a memorable dining experience. We left already talking about what we’d order on our next visit, which is always the best sign. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend House of Plates to anyone looking for a special meal, and we’ll definitely be back.

05/06/2026: Kenny’s is great! Ken the owner was delightful as were the patrons we met that gave great advice on what to do. The pint of Guinness was as great as the live music!

27/06/2026: We had a late lunch here, which was excellent. The Italian dishes, in particular, were exceptionally good. The price-performance ratio is definitely right. The young waiter (presumably the son) was extremely polite and attentive, while (presumably) the mother seemed a bit reserved. We'll be back again on our way back... And on our way back a week later, we went there for lunch again. Superb! Beate had lobster with spaghetti, and I had the famous carbonara! Excellent. I'm attaching two photos.

27/06/2026: Amazing Italian restaurant in our town of Lanesboro ,Food is excellent ,staff are very welcoming and friendly ,lovely warm atmosphere ,and newly added seating area to the front , i can only say we'll worth a visit and you won't be disappointed.

18/05/2026: I had the most wonderful day here for my little brother’s birthday. Beautiful atmosphere within the restaurant and such such kind staff, particularly Susy, Thais, Jay, and Dani. The food was absolutely delicious also. This is my third time at the restaurant and definitely not my last, I definitely recommend it for a casual lunch or nice dinner. Thank you to the staff for the wonderful experience.

04/07/2026: We had our day two wedding celebrations at the monks well. Geraldine and staff were fantastic to deal with. We had our day two on a Monday and Geraldine facilitated us by opening the pub for the event even though they are usually closed on Monday. The atmosphere was great, the pizzas were really tasty and went down very well with the guests. Would highly recommend this venue for events.

14/06/2026: My lord, dinner here was like eating artwork! Completely forgot to take photos of our starters - I had beef carpaccio with a horseradish sauce and some very tasty mini mushrooms. Hubby had boar salami on a toasted potato cake. My main was lamb with minted puréed peas and a fried sweetbread, my husband had a citrus-y risotto to die for. Dessert was chocolate torte for him, mine was some unbelievable concoction with shortbread, strawberries, whipped cream, and a basil accent. We devoured everything with a disgraceful speed - so, so yummy. Our server Miranda was on the spot, dancing between the eight tables in the room, and making her hard work look effortless. She was funny, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, describing the items that were unfamiliar to us. Our tastebuds were tantalized and titilated - one of the best meals I've ever enjoyed, including Paris and a three-star restaurant in Rome. Definitely book ahead, and get ready for the meal of a lifetime!

12/07/2026: Booked table for my mother's 83rd birthday for Friday night. When we arrived, 8 of us, we were told the table was booked for Saturday night, which if DEFINITELY wasn't. The 2 Italian owners were extremely rude and dismissive, absolutely horrible. Would never set foot in the place again, as I told all my family and friends.

08/07/2026: Absolutely love Ragazzi. I’ve been a regular now for 7 years and Alessandro and his team are amazing. Great food, very friendly service and fab atmosphere inside and out. Highly recommend if you are in Dalkey.

16/06/2026: Our retirement group (23 people) had a late lunch at An Sibin, and we're made very welcome. The carvery and salmon, with a great choice in meats, we're delicious. Veggies & potatoes (various types) were delicious. The waitresses/waiters were very helpful and very kind. There was a vegetarian option. I did not have dessert. I highly recommend this place.

15/06/2026: Splendid food was so good staff were friendly and very helpful.. If there is one thing I would say is they could be a little more generous with the food .. My carvery was excellent but a bit small im Gulen free i wanted a hafe plate i got a couple of slices of beef with a spoonful of vegetables and a spoonful of Gulen free gravy my plate had less food on it than my mom's hafe portion and they charged me for a full dinner!! It was not worth the the money I won't be returning sadly to say as they have improved there standards but it was disappointing portions and over charging to say the least the castle arch in Trim is still the best 👌
